Heath Ledger 1979 – 2008

I know this probably isn’t news to anyone, but actor Heath Ledger died earlier today. While this isn’t really game show related, I’m sure all of us can agree dying at the age of 28 with such a promising career ahead of him really sucks.  We here at BuzzerBlog send out our condolences to the Ledger family.

    Someone DIED?!?!!?!?!? OMG!!!!

what a stupid post. I’m surprised we didn’t see an “in memory of Benazir Bhutto” or Anna Nicole Smith post.

i’m going to have a hard time watching “The Dark Knight” knowing that he’s gone. RiP

I have to agree with tay, this is just random.

  • Mark says:

Yeah, Ledger never even appeared on a reality show. It’d be tough to find a celebrity who had anything less to do with game shows. I dislike when Alex turns this into his own personal blog instead of a game show site.

  • Alex Davis says:

Read who the author is. Wasn’t me.

I really wish people would look at the authors before automatically assuming I wrote it. Others writers can write what they want.

  • Mark says:

    Whoops. Sorry about that.

    Really people? Really?

BuzzerBlog is a news blog, yes. It is also a community with regular readers and commenters on this website. Did we really post any personal opinion that wasn’t said by anybody else? No. It’s just also a way for other “members” here to share their opinions, as by the 19,300 diggs on Digg.com (second most ever), I can tell people are shaken up by this. Plus, better seeing something fresh than something a week old in the Mini-Buzz column since it is a slow week.

If you don’t like what’s posted here, start your own blogs.

Tay’s post was the stupid one. Someone died OMG? Grow up.

  • Mark says:

I don’t know where to pick apart your argument, Paul. I’m pretty sure there have never been other stories posted here just because it was popular on another site. I was shaken up by the London terror attacks last year but didn’t see anything here about it. I’m just saying this is not typical for Buzzer, nor is it earth-shattering enough to break completely out of the beat of this site. There’s a reason you don’t see Iraq war news on Engadget, even though that’s a blog. Know your audience.

  • Xavier says:

Actually they did say something about the London attacks when it happened. I don’t know if that page still exists though.

Right there as a matter of fact. Click the archives link and you can see mostly all our posts dating back to the first days of the site back on Blogger. The archiving screwed up and didn’t catch all the posts, but a vast majority are saved.

And yeah, I saw nothing worthy of some of the berating Paul got for posting this. We don’t post every death, big deal. He felt like posting this one. You could have easily ignored it as well.
