One item lit up our news submission address during our extended Christmas break, and that was GSN’s minor in interactive games. It was announced a bit ago, but as many people have noticed, GSN has cut back the hours of interactive play-along television. The two-screen gaming, as of January 1st, is from 7PM ET to 10PM ET. In a post on GSN’s message boards, it was stated that they are mainly focusing their attention to on the very best of their Interactive Television games to create the an incredible experience. John P. Roberts, Senior Vice President of Digital Media at GSN, told BuzzerBlog “GSN is still dedicated to interactive playalong, but we are now focusing on the prime time block where the majority of players are participating. We have expanded our hours regarding PlayMania and will have some exciting news to share later in the month.” GSN will announce many of their new shows in the 2007 Winter Television Critics Association meeting on January 12th. The announcements will be on BuzzerBlog first on January 12th or 13th, depending when they come in.
