something tells me that they’ll bring back classic wheel to GSN now that merv is gone.

And since wheel enters its 25th season this September.

It was a nicely done special to acknowledge the man who gave us 2 shows which we all grew up watching.

Merv Griffin was loved and everyone had nice things to say bout him. If you saw Larry Kings special last week when Vanna, Alex, and Ryan Seacrest (Merv gave him his big break) spoke about him, you’ll see why.

Thanks Merv. For everything.

Well, the WoF mini-marathon’s a wrap. For those that missed it, here’s what was on:

-Woolery/Stafford episode from the ’70s
-Vanna’s first day
-1st day of new puzzle board
-Pat’s last day
-WoF in New York (1988)
-April Fool’s Episode
-10th Year Anniversary episode
-4000th show

I missed a couple of the episodes. Judging from what I saw, though, they were generic episodes from the late 80s. Anyone else care to fill in what I missed?

yy, this new GSN president is off to a good start by getting Wheel of Foretune back on GSN to salute Merv, enough though its only for 1 day, still excellent to see old WHEEL on GSN, but why is he airing the Masters tourament, he could get Alex’s first show from 1984, or a 1992 show, PLEASE WATCH WHEEL FOR GOOD RATINGS.

This is so cool…considering the circumstances. I can’t wait for five-full hours of classic WOF!! Too bad what had to happen before we got WOF back on GSN. Maybe alot of people will tune in and raiting will be awesome so they’ll keep it on the air.

They may show a whole Woolery episode because note that it says episodes such as that. I’m sure whatever they show will be great, because it came from Merv Griffin? And for those who don’t know this, he gave Ryan Seacrest a good jump start to his career when he hosted the teenage game show “Click” in the late 90s.

I hate to break this to you but they might only show clips from Chuck’s WOF and not a complete episode. Vanna’s first show will most likely just be clips as well. If you want to watch Vanna’s first show in its full than go to Page O’Clips on the right on this screen under links. You can also watch 5 full episodes of Chuck’s Wheel as well.

I’ve never seen Wheel with Woolery, so I’m VERY excited! Although I wish the reason why we’re seeing it wasnt so sad.

I wish I had GSN, if only for this. Sometimes, GSN does the right thing. MOst of the time, it sucks. But, sometimes, it’s nice for them to do something like this. Nice to see Woolery wheel. I wonder what episode they’ll pick, since not many of them exist anymore. Plus, it’s nice to see the $1,000,000 Masters tournament.

Props to GSN, they are doing the right things here.

WOF isn’t seen on the channel anymore, and J! only shows 2000-ish eps, when there are thousands of episodes in cold storage that would be appropriate to be shown again, during “Merv’s era.” They will be two of Merv’s biggest legacies as time goes on, so it’s only appropriate. I’m very much looking forward to them.

The Play your Hunch episode will also be interesting to see, having never seen one myself. I have heard from others though that Merv was a terrific host, so I will stay up late that night to see it.

I hope those Jeopardy! episodes include a Art Fleming episode. And I’m glad GSN is airing a WOF with Chuck Woolery. We NEVER see those anymore. RIP Merv.
