GSN Radio’s Power Outage

Scary stuff over at GSN Radio today. During the seventh question of 10-sion, their power went out. It wasn’t even weather related; they’ve had clear skies all day. Here’s a recording of the clip that’s been posted to YouTube.

By “Seven Questions,” I presume you mean “10sion?” :)

Was there a game that involved the chewing of wiring?

What would’ve happened if the contestant was still on the line and the studio caught fire instead?

I don’t think it’s fair that Bo wouldn’t have won anything if the power outage had disconnected her phone in the process. Anytime something like that happens, they should always rule in favor of the contestants (rather than giving them bupkiss for a technical glitch).

GSN: The Network For Cheapskates (now with 20% more inconvenient power outages).

All kidding aside, I’m glad Bob, Marianne, Sisko (SisQ?) and the rest of the crew maintained a professional attitude throughout the whole calamity (and that Bo eventually won $100).

From what the clip sounds like, their “bleep button delay” system must have been among the crashed devices, as when they rejoined they seemed to have finished question seven and eight… those would have been played before the failure, just not out of the system in time to be broadcast.

I’d say the gameplay was fair. Call the contestant back, and restart their game at the point the studio last heard from them.

Yeah, I don’t listen to GSN Radio that much (as you may have guessed). Article’s been updated.

Then simple research should’ve been necessary… you know, since you’re a journalist and all. ;)

I just realized… this isn’t the first time a technical failure has left Goen without his script on his many shows, and any time that does happen to him, he always reverts back to that story of getting a license to be a broadcaster. Truth is, that law was never repealed.
