Reminds me of "Play for a Billion". The first one with Drew Carey basically had the same rules.

heh its so funny to me when i see these new shows' efforts in their calls for auditions.. using a gmail email address and saying stuff like "If you have appeared on other game shows please do not submit" .. really? so if you appeared on, say, Family Double Dare in 1988 you wouldn't qualify? bah... marketing firms :p

I dunno, I'm thinking if GSN goes to a more contemporary route they risk losing the hardcore fans which is most of their audience, remeber the switch to GSN with reality shows that near-killed the franchise. They can have one or two games like this but not too many.

As far as this game iotself, it sounds like a ripoff of the main game from pepsi's play for a billion, which was boring mostly becuase they were only offering puny sums of money to quit (puny in comaprison to the $1B) and it became obvious after a while the second show, that no one would take the money (I never saw the first one with Drew Carey, I'm referring to the second one with Tom Bergeron).

If I were running GSN's I'd buy a lower-staked version of PokerFace with a top prize of say $250,000. remember that PokerFace was turned down by ABC. becuase it seems ABC has a knack for making bad decisions (Set For Life, National Bingo Night, rejected Deal or No Deal) so if they rejected PokerFace, it's gotta be a hit. lol

Another typo I've spotted: 'need to knowledge or skill' not 'need no knowledge or skill'.

I guess the reason GSN haven't done luck games is because they are more dependent upon big money. I'm intrigued to see what wrinkles distinguish this from DoND, and hope that this might be the start of a budget boost for GSN. I guess they got haunted by the spectacular ticker flashing '$5000' :p

And TIOLI is two or three rule changes from greatness, but is pretty rubbish without them.

im only curious to find out what the top prize will be. I'm surprised that ABC didn't try a week long event of any of the gameshows they've had not sure if any of them would have done well there but who knows. I can't see the top prize being very high considering it's GSN but maybe they will have it $100,000 like russian roulette.

Xavier: I think Alex meant to say that CR and Camouflage are not (as opposed to "now") likely to return.

I'm not crazy about the description, but maybe a high stakes/low skill game show is just what the doctor ordered as far as ratings go. Then again, ABC struck out trying to milk this formula three times, and one of those three shows bombed even worse when GSN reran it.

(Psst, Alex: The first time you have "Nerve Center" in this article, it came out "Never Center", which is either the game where four contestants cling to a railing to avoid being drawn in by a gigantic electromagnet in the middle of the stage, or where they try to keep their chakras misaligned for as long as possible.)

So Lingo might not come back? But I am happy to hear that Camouflage might come back. It is a fun show that needed a little fixing to, but the show almost got it.
