GSN Live Today!

Remember, GSN debuts their new interactive live call in show, GSN Live, today at noon which is excessively soon.  What do you all think of the show?  I’m sure a certain network would love to hear.

At least for the first show, nothing to stay home from work or school for. Host Fred Roggin, who I was and still am willing to give a shot, didn’t have his best day IMHO. Co-Host Heidi Bohay was still cute (had such a crush on her from Hotel and her celebrity game show appearances) and seemed genuine. It’ll be nice to see her do more as the show (hopefully) finds its sea legs.

Set was nice and home-y for the stay-at-home mom/grandma demographic…nothing flashy (but there doesn’t need to be). Reminded me of the Regis/Kelly (and its talk-show clones) dynamic with it’s kinda grumpy guy and his cute perky co-host. They had a little bit of host chat in the first segment about the Oscars and the trademark talk-show BIG coffee mugs.

My main complaint for the first show was a lack of pace. Basically, one short game per hour and not much host interaction spread over three hours.

Oh, and can’t believe the second contestant didn’t know that the Golden Girl star who was married to Allen Ludden was Betty White! That guy should have his GSN viewing privileges taken away for a month! :)

It was nothing special. Just a regular old call-in-and-win show. Prizes were alright for a call-in show. Heidi was decent, but that Fred guy needs a little help. I’ve never heard of him before, anyway.

Dang it I forgot all about this! Well based on what people have said, I’ll have to be sure to check this out tomorrow and give my opinion.

Not bad. I saw it for the first time Today. The concept was good and the questions were easy. I tried to call in Today, but my phone went dead. Oh well! I’ll try again Tomorrow.

Seemed to be more content today than there was on Monday, and they even had Tom Kennedy on the phone very briefly (it’s his birthday). It’ll probably improve as time goes on.

BTW, in case you’ve been living under a rock, Wink will be on this coming Friday.

Maybe Damon ANdrews of KTLA will replace Fred. It’s an okay show to watch for.

Ok here’s the low down. Not bad for an afternoon block. I had it imagined quite differently but when I saw it, it had a nice vibe to it. Definitely the kind of block that relaxes you and puts you in a confort zone. The prizes were great. I would have honestly loved to have that home theater. lol My only minor gripe is that I wish Fred would brighten up his personality. He’s not entirely bad but I feel like he’s trying to rush things just a bit. It would help if he would let people talk instead of trying to trying to fast forward to the game so quickly.
