Posted by Alex Davis as GSN, GSN Live, Host, Trivial Pursuit
Two stories for the price of one. We’re going crazy. Seriously, we are; I got four hours of sleep last night because of various things. First off, with the extension of GSN Live to the 3PM ET to 6PM ET, new guests are needed. First up is Trivial Pursuit: America Plays host Christopher Knight. He’ll be on this Thursday from 3:00PM ET to 4:30PM ET. I hate to go off on a tangent, but I have to. Some initially were a bit disgruntled that Mark Walberg, the host of the pilot, didn’t get the actual show hosting job. Watching how Trivial Pursuit goes, does anyone else think it’s better than Mark isn’t hosting? It seems like it would have been a waste of his talents.
Long time To Tell The Truth panelist Orson Bean visits the set from 12:00PM ET to 2:00PM ET. Finally, you can see Erik Estrada from 5:00PM ET to 6:00PM ET. Older people may remember him from CHiPs. People who love horribly filthy humor like me may remember him more recently from Sealab 2021.
Also, be sure to check out Shokus Internet Radio this Wednesday, September 24th, from 4PM PT to 6PM PT to hear a nice tribute to the classic game show Concentration which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The show’s producer and puzzle creator Norm Blumenthal will be there to discuss the show and answer any questions listeners may have. Just click this link to go to the site.

Personally, I would have been glad just to see Mark hosting a non-smutty show that’s not on a low-rent network like GSN or PAX/ION. Yeah, he could do better, but with the current TV climate, I’m not getting my hopes up.

Message to GSN Live staff:
Still no Jim Perry? No Jim Peck? What gives? Isn’t it about time you stopped parading out all the Z-list celebs who’ve barely been on a game show and brought out what the fans really want to see? That’s right, I’m talking actual, honest-to-goodness game show hosts (like those two mentioned above). I want to know what they’ve been up to since retirement, how they look today, and so forth (and if Peter Tomarken were still alive today, I would’ve liked to have seen him, too).

Jim Peck is back in Milwaukee, Wisconsin which is where I’m also living plus he did a show on PBS here called “Remember Millwaukee” which is not in production anymore…

Good to know about Jim Peck. But, don’t forget, when GSN Live first started, they had Bob Eubanks and Jim Lange. They even had Bill Rafferty. Last, but not least, Wink Martindale often hosts the show. But, I do agree that it would be nice to see some more classic hosts. Oh yeah…Tom Kennedy and Peter Marshall were on too.

if I’m not mistaken, I heard somewhere that Jim Perry has pretty much “dissapearred” he apparently won’t go anywhere near a computer, and doesn’t do TV anymore.
Has Chuck Woolery been on GSN Live yet? I’m sure he will be soon with that cat show comig up. and how about Betty White, Regis Philbin, Alex Trebek, Vanna White (I know Pat has been on there before.) I could rhyme off a long list of people they should get, but then again at least they haven’t had Rossi Morreale yet.
