“GSN Live” and “Instant Recall” Videos
I’ve got two quick videos to show you for today, and possibly some more tomorrow. First off, I wanted to show this remotely delayed GSN Live video. My favorite moments on any live show are where the contestants don’t exactly go the way the crew planned, often leaving it in a near-censor worthy situation. GSN Live had one of those a bit ago, check it out below. They somehow just chugged along without a breakdown, which is shocking. My favorite is still the Fred Roggin situation from around a year ago, that you can see by clicking here. Just scroll to around the three minute mark.
Second, definitely wanted you to see this Instant Recall preview. They are definitely playing up host Wink Martindale as the leading reason to watch, and it’s probably a good strategy. The past few shows they’ve tried out-of-studio have failed rather largely. Instant Recall does look like a good show. Get the classic game show fans, who are the vast majority of the audience, to tune in because of him and you’ll save yourself the effort of having to sell them to Instant Recall. I’ve seen a lot of emails and comments that have said they’re going to watch specifically because of Wink, so this one may actually work out for them. They need a new hit badly. The video they have with Wink is pretty amusing, take a look.

Wow, Wink is smooth.
The first video didn't work for me — the player said it had been deleted.

OK, every — and I do mean EVERY — time someone one of these contrived rap things, it is a DISASTER!
But The Winker has pulled it off. That is one slick production, showing they managed the "look" of this from top to bottom very thoroughly. For someone who pulled off the doofus type in the '70s, he just absolutely nailed this one! Very entertaining.

Wink hasn't lost a step. I wonder if Bob Quigly & Kenny Williams turned over in there graves after that rap tune?

The GSN clip was hysterical. As for the clip with Wink…didn't they do something similar with Chuck Woolery just before Lingo started?

Yep you are right, they did the same thing with Chuck for his reality series Natrually Stoned, that aired years ago on GSN
OK…yeah…I thought it was Lingo. My mistake…but, I do remember that clip! Wow! LOL
People may watch because of Wink, but the show sounds so stupid there's no way it will last. GSN has to learn they have to be innovative with their programming and not try ripping off Cash Cab and other hidden camera games.

I really hope this show does well. GSN really needs a hit. I worry about Instant Recall, because the ratings came in for the similar Hidden Agenda last week and it did HORRIBLY. 67,000 viewers in PRIME TIME. Ugh. I like the show a little, but that's just unacceptable.

As a point of reference, the show bowed with 202,000. That figure marks a 66% drop over the course of the run in that time period.
That would be horrendous. Even by GSN standards.
As for Wink… yeah, I'll give the guy a shot at it. He's still as smooth as ever, boyyyyyyy. =p

Yeah, this is another show I will likely be turning off less than halfway through.
They didn't need to get Wink to sell me on tuning in, this is GSN and I will look at just about any crap they put up, but that doesn't mean I'll keep watching any unwatchable schlock.
