This was a tough secret to keep for a few months, trust me. Let the bitching begin! GSN will be going away from game shows again and doing an actual cat pageant: “Catminster: CFS International Cat Championship” which will be taping in December and airing in Q12007 as it stands now. GSN senior vice president of marketing Dena Kaplan stated she hopes this show can become an “annual tentpole event” much like the new “National Vocabulary Championship”. But hey, Bob Goen and his wife Marianne Curan are hosting, so maybe we can see season 2 of “That’s The Question”!
OK, to be honest, I don’t know what chance there is of me watching this. It doesn’t sound fun or entertaining at all to me. Then again, I really don’t like cats. Also, I just don’t know how successful this will be. We’ve seen what happens when GSN goes away from game shows, and it’s not pretty. I respect them for doing this and think it’s perfectly fine to go away from game shows every now and then, but it’s been proven time and time again that the non-game shows do not do well on the network. We’ll just have to see how this one does. As a note: The dates I gave above are subject to change, as they were given to me quite a bit ago.

Looks like I’ll be avoiding the GSN forums for a while. I can’t stand the bitching and this will make it worse probably. IMO I might take a glance at this show if Bob Goen and his wife are hosting it. I do like cats so this might be of interest to me but we’ll see how GSN formats this.

GSN needs to stop going away from game shows. i personally wish it was all classic gameshows with the exception of Greed, Millionare, Weakest Link and if they pick this show up Deal Or No Deal. cats are ok but i dont think ill be interested in this. I would rather see the classics at night Card sharks, tic tac dough, joker’s wild, let’s make a deal, hollywood squares, trivia trap, password, password plus, super password, blockbusters, press your luck. I also wish they’d pick up High Rollers (since the network dont have a gameshow dealing with dice). i dont mind that they have a few casino games but other than that stick with the classics. if they want to bring back some show then Russian Roulette.

Only reason I’d watch is for Bob and Marianne. Correct me if I’m wrong, but would this be the first time they’ve worked together on a particular show?
(I’ll withhold further comment and spare you the obvious “catastrophic” pun in the process.)

THAT’S IT! When I wrote this, I wanted a pun, and I could not think of any phrase cat related. Albeit it was rather early when I wrote this, but thanks. When I get a chance (I’m DJing from 2PM ET to 6PM at u92.wvu.edu) I’ll include some puns somewhere.

Or how about, “I fell dead asleep watching this show. I couldn’t move. It left me CATatonic.”

This is a joke, right? A Cat Beauty Show? This is reminiscent(sp.?) of 2004.

Well all i have to say is this better not be a sign of things to come in 2007. I don’t think anyone would be caught dead watching cats all fancied up doing obstacles. They just never learn do they.

As much as I like cats…I’ll take the Westmenster Kennel Club’s dogshow to block.

At least this isn’t American Dream Derby!
I would rather see a dog show than a cat show.
If GSN does in fact air this show, I hope they also include Garfield and Friends to their lineup.

First it was Greek Games, then American Dream Derby .. maybe
the third time is the charm … doubt it.

I think this show will be worth viewing; think “Best In Show” (the movie) just with kitty cats. It can’t lose!

Just wanted to say that I received an early viewing of this show. If you ever wondered about what it entails to get yourself and your cat(s) ready for an International Cat Competition, this provides you an inside look.
I found the cats beautiful and the rest of my comments will be in a review on the entire program.

my wife and raise and show persian cats and would have liked to have seen the show.but we only saw one advert for it on april 1 and heard a time or what channel it was on. now today i find out it was on “THE GAME SHOW NETWORK”.this truely seems an odd pairing.needless to say we did not get to see the show.for those of you that never seen a cat show, the entertainment is in the breeders/owners.the cats will make you oooh and aaah but the people will make you laugh and wonder.

I read in Redbook magazine that this cat show was going to be airing on March 27 - tuned in it wasn’t on. Hope I can figure out when they’ll actually show ito on GSN. Can’t stand the “westminster” dog show and it’s about time someone tried to give some air time to cats. Face it, like ‘em or not, there are more families with cats than dogs. Also, it’s not a cat “beauty” show, it is the equivalent of the “westminster” only for cats. You go Kitties!
