GSN Casts for “Bingo America”

Can someone tell me what is with some form of a recent Bingo craze recently? ABC just got rid of their god awful Bingo game show, and now GSN is getting into the act. GSN’s casting for their new game show Bingo America, which combines trivia and Bingo, and of course they want exciting contestants. Here’s a good question. If you’re going to combine Bingo and trivia, why not just renew Lingo? Isn’t that a much safer bet? I’m just feeling that a new Bingo show on GSN is a bad sign for the renewal of Lingo. But hey, at least it involves trivia. It could be good. We’ll see when more details come in.

I would really miss LINGO if it wasnt renewed. I was hoping to see Shandi again :(

Just going by your description, I’m guessing this is a revival of “Bingo at Home,” which I saw a clip of somewhere (maybe pageoclips.com?). If that’s the case, then I probably wouldn’t have too much of a problem with it, since seemed like a decent concept.

Wait a minute, isn’t Bingo coming back to ABC in December?

  • Marc Power says:

I remeber seeing commericals for triviabingo.com mentioned you could qualify for their game show but the show never became reality and the site is now down. I just hope no one ever told them my game show idea for “super bonanza bingo” (trademark pending).

Just renew Lingo GSN, why mess with success?

I don’t understand why people think that just because GSN is casting for a Bingo show that this semi automatically eliminates Lingo. I don’t agree with that but if by chance GSN doesn’t renew it by any means, then it had 6 great seasons which is more success that can be said for ANY show on GSN to this point.

I believe this is a reworking of ABC’s now-cancelled “Bingo Night”. It’s from the same production company.

  • Julia says:

Um…National Bingo Night was renewed by ABC, if only for the fact that it upped website hits to their website. Sad, really. But, alas, it WAS renewed. Don’t know when it’s coming back, but it IS coming back. This might be produced by the same company, but it seems like a better idea, if not still horrible. NBN sucked, and I don’t know why this won’t too, but still…they are really grasping in straws if they need to go to the bingo format again.

  • Tadd says:

NBN WAS going to be picked up by ABC, but the re-worked version was dumped by ABC a few weeks ago and will not air.

  • Antonio says:

I just apply for this game show so wish me good luck…

  • Greg says:

If Lingo is cancelled, what’s Chuck Woolery going to do?

  • Intelligentfan777 says:

    Naturally Stoned 2?! (kidding)

Anyway, let’s not jump the gun Lingo, it will hopefully come back for another season, and it should!

So NBN isn’t coming back after all? Thank God! And I have to say it……….NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BINGO!

At least this new GSN show will involve some actual skill, rather than just Bingo luck. And, with Duel premiering next week, I’m sure ABC will wonder why the heck it even bothered with NBN.

Trivia and Bingo to me sounds like a reworking of Trump Card, or, for our British readers, Bob’s Full House. If that’s the case, then I am uber-excited.

  • Caroline says:

I am actually a contestant on Bingo America – we are shooting my episode on February 11th. I’m really excited. The whole bingo aspect is definitely suspect to me, but I can’t get enough of a good trivia game show!

Here’s to hoping I blow ‘em out of the water! I took out my opponent hard at the auditions lol.

  • Brian says:

I am also a contestant on the show. I shoot my episode on February 5th. i can’t wait

watched the show last night (march 31st.) really enjoyed it. my family is HUGE on bingo and being able to be somewhat interactive with the printable cards was really fun for them. they are wanting to gather a huge crowd at their house each night it is on, so everyone can play together. Atleast makes for a great 1/2 hour family game night at moms house!
