GSN Brings back “Feast of Favorites”

Remember a few years back when GSN, under their old name Game Show Network which they seem to be using a lot more recently for some reason, had a Feast of Favorites? For those that don’t, it’s where people could go online and vote for the shows they want to see. GSN would do a countdown of what they said were people’s favorite game shows. A year ago it was rumored to be coming back but fell through. This year it’s official with GSN’s Viewer’s Choice Marathon.

There’s a long list of different shows the network can air. They range from classics such as Password and The Dating Game to newer shows like That’s The Question and Whammy!. People can vote once a day for the 14 days the voting takes place and the highest scorers will be slotted into the ten hour marathon on Friday, November 23rd, from 9AM ET to 7PM ET. Click the link below to go to the voting page. We’ll be sure to plug this again.

alright gang let’s start talking about what show we’ll out vote for so it’ll definitely be on. (it worked last time for bullseye) and then why we think GSN rigged the votes so that Whammy finished at #3.

I was ticked that i didn’t see Russian Roulette on there I was going to vote for that show. but there are some on there that are pretty good. I would have liked to see the chain reaction from the 80’s listed on there.

$100k Pyramid is the definitive choice here. It needs to return to the GSN daily lineup. Remove Dylan Lane and replace him with someone who knew what he was doing as a word game host.

Just curious, does a “no” vote towards a show count as a point against it?

Do u have to vote for all the shows in order for ur vote to count? because some i havent seen, or dont care if its on or not…

Too bad the Jack Narz-hosted episodes of BEAT THE CLOCK weren’t included.

I really hope they remember the 1984-86 LMAD in the regular reruns. I’m getting tired of 1971.

I registered at gsn.com just to vote for this.

Good list Scott! I voted for most of those shows as well. I never got to see the 1989 Jackpot! (I was 3 in 1989) but I am glad it’s on there!

Does anybody really believe that these votes will actually be counted?

We should all gather up our votes and decide on a show to group vote for. It worked for Bullseye last time.

If it’s on the list (I’ve not seen it yet) I nominate “Go!”, the insanely fun yet short lived word game that morphed from AND back into the endgame of Chain Reaction.

Some of my votes so far went to B&E shows (TTD,JW,Bullseye) and Family Feud.

well James i can tell you that Jackpot in 1989 was awesome. There was also a canadian version with mike darrow that was on from 85 to i think 88 or 89. Jackpot needs to be on daytime on GSN along with the older version of Chain Reaction with Bill Cullen or Geoff Edwards. Hollywood Showdown is pretty near to a jackpot clone which i am shocked wasn’t on the list because I would have voted for Hollywood Showdown if it were on there.

Ideally, GSN should exclude all the shows currently on their regular schedule, and focus on the shows they hardly air anymore. While they obviously and sadly didn’t work when aired on a regularly scheduled basis, there’s no reason why original versions of THE DATING GAME, (the Chuck Barris version of) CAMOUFLAGE, and HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, for example, couldn’t be placed on the voting list. If nothing else, I think it would be a goodwill gesture to older GSN viewers, who have been the network’s original core audience; even if these shows didn’t make the cut. Which reminds me, one of their first original game shows is also conspicuously absent from the list…remember INQUIZITION?

    That’s pretty near wrong.

Hollywood Showdown isnt on the list cause they sold it off to the TV Guide Channel and airs there daily. I’ve concentrated my votes on any gameshow on the list THAT DOES NOT CURRENTLY AIR ON GSN, if it airs currently, it gets the NO box. SOMETHING NEEDS TO JAR THE GSN EGGHEADS, and a sound NO NO NO to stuff on the schedule just might help.

I would like to see the ‘87 Blockbusters sometime.

NOTE: NOT ON THIS LINE BUT DONT KNOW WHERE TO PUT IT…

Shandi from LINGO is on Phenomon right now as a star to be in the magic acts tonite.

Hopefully, they’re going to stop crunching credits. It’s unnecessary. Some of the shows are promoted to death anyway. If they wanted more promos, they should go commercial-free. That’s what I think.

I’m voting for TJW and TTD. All the way, baby!

I was a little disappointed that Russian Roulette wasn’t on there either, I got a little excited since Friend or Foe was on there. Its also a little disappointing to know that all these shows won’t get shown, and we’ll probably see stuff that’s airs 3 times a day already. :( But oh well. I’ve been voting almost every day.

The list has been put up on GSN’s online Schedule. Let me just say that many people will not be disapointed by the list.
