GSN Adds More Classics to Schedule
Yes, we’re actually doing a GSN schedule update. Strange, isn’t it? GSN’s adding a bunch of new classics to the schedule which will make many people happy. Shows like Wheel of Fortune and Tic Tac Dough are returning while late nights see even more Double Dare which is shockingly a pretty fun show. I’m not really a big fan of Tic Tac Dough but I always found it to be exponentially better than things like The Joker’s Wild. Be on the lookout for a newer fan favorite POSSIBLY (I stress possibly as much as I can. It’s no where near official yet) returning to the primetime schedule soon, right around the launch of a new original. It will make a lot of people happy, I promise.
Here’s what the GSN schedule is looking like courtesy of reader Seth Thrasher:

2:00 AM: Body Language (replaces Let’s Make a Deal)
2:30 AM: Beat the Clock (Monty Hall) (replaces Let’s Make a Deal)

Is that Alex Trebek’s or Marc Summer’s version of Double Dare
It’s Alex Trebek’s version of Double Dare.
Can’t go wrong with classics! Nice move GSN!
Thats fantastic! Two of my all time favorites – Wheel and Tic Tac Dough back to back! But why at 10am Thats Price is Right time! Guess my remote will be working over time!
Scooter, you’re aware that you can watch TPIR online, right? ;)
Only problem with watching TPIR online, sometimes, the fast forward doesn’t work so well and starts the WHOLE episode over.
Finally, GSN is starting to get the message. Inserting “Wheel of Fortune”, “Tic Tac Dough”, and Monty’s “Beat the Clock” means that they are starting to listen to the people that watch the channel. Now if only they put “The Joker’s Wild” on there, then I’ll be completely satisfied. I know that for a little while Sony had planned a new version of “TJW” to launch into syndication this past fall, but they pulled the plug on it before it got off the ground.
Well, there is both Good AND Bad from all of this. First, the good. Hopefully, we’ll all be seeing the players go shopping on Wheel and on TTD, maybe they’ll really go back to 1978. Can’t wait to see. Now, for the bad, didn’t GSN announce that there would be a new interactive show in January? GSN wouldn’t lie to us. Would they? Just in case GSN has forgotten, I am never going to forget the time they ruined Playmania in its final five months. Now will somebody tell why they did? I demand justice.
Tic Tac Dough coming back that is a great show that I enjoyed. now if they would bring Joker’s Wild and classic Chain Reactions and Jackpot I would feel complete.
I’m a bit gutted that they’re removing the saturday night showing of LMaD, but I’m glad TTD and Wheel of Fortune are coming back.
To Alex Davis, I too am not a big fan of Tic Tac Dough & The Joker’s Wild since it’s kind of the same game; trivial wise , just with different props and structure.
I’m excited to see classic Wheel of Fortune again, I was so young since I first watched it in 88′, glad to relive the episodes that were played before the modern stuff like the letter-board monitors, to the classic $25,000 sign. I hope that Sony should consider reviving that and change it to $100,000. (hint hint)
I cannot say how happy I am that they are bringing back Wheel and I was just thinking why did they take Tic Tac Dough off! Such a good show. Although the crappiness of the set is kinda intoxicating but other than that great show!
Okay so over the last couple of months I really learned to like Card Sharks a lot. I mean I liked it before, but recently I liked it more than ever..it is such a fun show! Does anyone agree? P.S. I know that had an (awful) revival of Card Sharks…but do you think reviving it with the classic rules would work! I am thinking even a different spin on the old theme. What do you guys think?
Martin I would love to see a revival of Card Sharks with the music that was on the Perry version but having higher prize amounts especially on the money cards with the bottom row starting at $1,000 and move up to the second level and add $2,000 total of money cards $160,000 with one card per line or even have where you can change three cards at any time during the money cards but the gameplay bascially the same but instead of asking 10 people of the same likeness asked 20. a new version of Card Sharks though in daytime I would love to see on CBS before Price Is Right and have a revival of Press Your Luck before the Card Sharks or even a revival of Joker’s wild.
Card Sharks ’08 might just work, so long as it uses the classic rules (100-person surveys and educated guesses–no audience polls) and maybe upping the stakes: Each round pays $500, and the Money Cards could be played for $80,000 (starting with $500 on line 1, $1,000 on line 2).
For me, all that’s missing is Pyramid and Joker’s Wild. (Maybe they’ll be next to be added back!)
I could see marc summers hosting Card Sharks 08 with two models Laura Shields and Lindsay Schnoweis. I could live no audience polls and even live with price cards and even possibly seven cards instead of five as long as each contestants has there own row of seven cards but I’d rather stick with the five cards per line though.
With Barry-Enright finally back, GSN has fufilled my wishes.
Has nobody thought that maybe, just maybe, they finally got the old Bob Barker “Price is Right” episodes back? Seasons 1-35 of course.
That is f-ing awesome. I finally have a reason to watch GSN again and starting in Januray with How Much is Enough?, classics like Wheel of Fortune and Tic Tac Dough returning and this “supposed secret show” that could be coming back to primetime, GSN has finally won me over again. Well done!
I’m calling Russian Roulette!
Marc, if you would read my previous comment, Sony had a revival of “TJW” planned for syndication for this past fall, but they pulled the plug on it.
And Scott, I like your idea for a “CS” revival, but maybe something similar to what was done on “Game Show Marathon”, close to the classic format. Also, they should bring back the first car bonus game from the 80s version.
To Michael:
Now of course you know anything be possible within the realm of “reality” but in the case of TPIR….not happening unless CBS cancells the current and so on and so forth…blah blah blah.
Nikolai, I meant reruns. Just like “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune” are today, “Tic-Tac” and “Joker” were almost always together from ’78 to ’86.
Nice looking schedule, I remember watching TTD and WOF on GSN bcak in I think 2002 or 2001 when they were still on weekends. I wonder though, since Wheel is back on the schedule, maybe GSN will try to get all or some of the NBC daytime Wheel episodes that exist, I mean they showed three NBC episodes during the Merv Griffin episode plus one from 1976, so one would think some NBC shows will be included when Wheel returns to GSN. Of course that’s just my thinking
