Endemol has started an exclusive licensing agreement with Gameloft to create a mobile game edition of 1 VS 100, the hit NBC show returning Fall 2007. In the show and game, one contestant will have to battle the 100-member Mob in a game of knowledge, strategy, and luck. “We have already had phenomenal success integrating viewer interactivity into our hit game shows like Deal or No Deal and 1 vs. 100 within the on air broadcasts,” said Jon Vlassopulos, Vice President, Digital Media at Endemol. “It is clear that fans enjoy engaging with the show and so providing them a way to play anytime anywhere on their phones is a natural extension. We are looking forward to seeing it become a top seller!” “Bringing the on-air experience to the mobile games category is an ideal brand extension and wonderful opportunity for both parties,” said Gonzague de Vallois, vice president of Publishing, Gameloft. “The show’s viewers are not only savvy mobile phone users, but avid participants and we’re excited to deliver their favorite show to their mobile phones.”

Cell phones? I don’t have a cell phone, but I know it’d probably cost around $3.99 a month to get this game on my cell. It’s a waste of money.

Not a month. I just got DoND on my phone for $4.99 flat. It’s not that bad for the mobile phone edition. Although the sound can get very annoying after 10 seconds.

Sort of related…Toys R Us and some others have removed the 1 vs 100 tabletop game from their inventories…although Linens-N-Things has it in stock.
Has anybody seen this electronic version?

Not yet. But TRU got rid of the tabletop game? Dam it. I was wanting to get that. Just didn’t have the time notr the monety to spend on that.

Well, it’s still a waste of money. You might have to pay for going over the line or something like that. Maybe roaming charges.

Playing against 100 PEOPLE is what makes 1 vs. 100 interesting.
Playing against 100 pixels just doesn’t cut it. All it will become is a “Pick 1 of 3 answers” type of trivia quiz.

Thank the lord I have Cricket! They don’t charge for airtime while playing games. They’re very good about picking up game show games to sell in the mobile storefront. This one will definitely earn a spot in my collection.
