Game Show Home Game Update
Lots of game show fans enjoy playing their favorite shows from home. With that, we have a small update on different game shows that are recently available at home or online. First off, what people are probably more excited about, iToys’s The Price is Right tabletop electronic game. It’s from the same company that did the 1 VS 100 and Family Feud games, and both are really good, so this one’s bound to be fun. It also looks like it comes with three set pieces: the Big Wheel, Hole in One, and Plinko. No word on additional pricing games on the actual console itself now, but I’d have to imagine since playing the same two pricing games over and over is going to get really irritating.
Also, Oberon Games has launched a download-able version of Crosswords. The game is fairly accurate to the show, or as accurate as it can be. The spoiler system is a bit complicated, and the annoying music just loops over and over and over. If the theme music annoys you on the show, it’s going to be worse on you playing the game. However, it’s still pretty fun just playing along with the game and seeing how you’d do. It’s a lot harder than it looked for me. Click here to download the game.

I highly doubt this will happen but what would be neat with the TPIR game is if you can buy new pricing games seperately, albeit you’ll have to spend a fortune and countless days trying to find them all but when you get bored with it you can just buy more games.
and again I dont know what’s with the bashing on the crosswords theme, IMO it’s a fun little tune you can whistle and unlike many shows today it actually has a tune. okay it gets annoying but anything would hearing it over and over again.
WOW! I…..WANT…….THAT!
Once more info is released, I will probably want it……MORE! Good timing on the announcement, too. (IMO)
Hey Alex, I know we don’t necessarily need it but, you might want to post a quick reminder about tonight’s first Drew-hosted MDS.
so has anyone seen it in stores
This isn’t even on the manufacturer’s website yet. So, I doubt it would be in stores. I expect it to show up sometime within the Summer or early fall, just in time for x-mas shopping.
Looks awesome, though. Their other tabletop games are awesome, so I expect this to be just as good.
I think the sets for the Plinko and Hole-in-One games are the only ones included because they’re the only ones (or at least, two of the very few) games that actually require physical props to play. Think about how many pricing games can be played with just a tiny screen and (what looks like) twelve input buttons…
Games that require a decision to play (One Right Price, Switch, Side By Side, Flip Flop, Most Expensive, Danger Price, etc.)
Games that require number input (3 Strikes, Ten Chances, Cliffhanger, Blank Check, Magic #, etc.)
And I’m sure the lists go on. There might be some other games that might not work so well without physical props (Bonkers and the Race Game come to mind, though I’m sure there’s a way around that), but I’m sure that it’s more than just two games.
WOw i might just buy it for the mini props it would be cool to have a mini wheel in the living room.
i hope its not cut out card boards
OHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!
The first MDS just ended!
SPOILER ALERT! (Stop here if you don’t want to be hinted)
ALEX…EVERYONE..DID YOU SEE THAT! HOLY SHIT! I DON’T F**king BELIEVE IT! ALEX YOU HAVE ANOTHER FOR BUZZERVISION! YOU GOTTA GET THE CLIP OF IT! THE GREATEST MOMENT IN TPIR HISTORY!
*gasp* That is all.
DOND AS TRIED FOR 3 YEARS, WHILE TPIR DID IT ONCE!
As crazy as this sounds to me, I almost thought that guy who won tonight knew all along… Prolly was just me though.
Show was in HD tonight for the first time ever… Not that it was really needed but i’ll take whatever I can get in HD. It was pretty cool to see the set, cars, and the generic brand salsa during the grand game in HD :-)
By freak luck, I stumbled upon this on YouTube, which was apparantly posted within the last ten minutes…

Needless to say, tremendous spoiler.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I give to you the first Transformer in game show history.
Best moment in TPiR ever? Hardly. Giving $1M away with a very loose DSW window ? best moment ever. Exciting? Sort of, since it was spoiled in promos. Among the top 25 TPiR moments? Barely.
I wouldn’t call $1000 (without going over) a very loose DSW window. Even on the daytime version, there aren’t that many contestants that come closer than $1000 (not even as many as 1 in 10, at a guess. I did a quick check at the Golden Road, whereby I found out only one contestant has gotten that close in the past month!). And with the higher-priced prizes being given away in the MDS, it’s even harder to get that close.
I expect that getting within $1000 is easier than hitting the $1.00 in only one spin (1 in 20), but it’s not that “loose.” (Indeed, at 1 per month, it’s about the same odds)
For $1M, a $1000 window is very loose. Why not keep it at $250 like on the daytime show unless TPiR and/or CBS really REALLY wanted to give the money away?
Winning $1,000,000 shouldn’t be easier than a 1 in 20 shot, in my opinion. Then again, it shouldn’t border on the virtually impossible. Being within $250 is that happy medium.
But I just established that the change isn’t substantially different than the 1-in-20 shot! (When I said 1-in-10, it was a pure guess before even looking at the actual facts of the past month) Others with more time could probably map out other months, but 1 in the past month (counting daytime only) is actually WORSE than 1-in-20, so unless this past month was an aberration, they haven’t actually made it easier!
According to game show home game home page, there will be 10 games!
