Game Show Awards Preview: Ken Jennings VS Charo
It’s hard to believe but GSN’s 2009 Game Show Awards, hosted by Howie Mandel, is only a few days away. It debuts this Saturday at 8:00PM ET. With it coming so close, we want to make sure you’re excited and ready for it. All this week we’re going to be showing you either video or picture content, along with some of our opinions, of the awards all leading up to the big event on Saturday evening. We’ll even bring back the BuzzerBlog chat box so you all can talk about the show and what you thought of it all. Today let’s start with some video. Between each award, different games are played with contestants hoping to win big cash and prizes. Some of the games were between celebrities, though. For instance, check out this trivia competition with Ken Jennings. Who better to face off against Ken than…Charo?
Of course Charo would win if all the questions are about her. Funny stuff, looking forward to the awards show. I already have it DVR’d and ready to record!

I’m sure some of y’all saw this already, but Alex Purnell wrote a “preview” of sorts for About.com. From what I’ve read from it, I don’t think I’ll be taking the time to watch the whole thing (plus the fact that there are way too many unnecessary award shows). I think if I were GSN, I’d settle for more of a tribute series than an actual award show.

Please tell me why Charo is famous in the first place, please. THIS is the clip they decide to leak out first? Wow…really makes me want to watch a show I’ve heard nothing but bad things about from people who went.

Judging from Alex Purnell's commentary, it sounds like future evidence for classic GSN fans to use against the current regime. That clip alone pretty much convinced me to give this show a miss.
Unless Jim Perry or Jim Peck appear on stage (and they probably don't), I'm going to pass.
