Back in April I told you about a show having a pilot shot in Chile (for production costs) that’s a mix of Family Feud and Jeopardy! which you can read about by clicking here. We finally received more information about it this morning. The pilot is from FOX TV and called Family Trust, which is changed from the original title of Gene Pool. Stand up comic (and an awesome one at that) Greg Fitzsimmons hosts it. “It’s almost like an interview show where there is a game going on,” Fitzsimmons said. “The interaction within the family is really the story. The money and the game are almost secondary to getting to know the family and watching me needle them about themselves and each other.”

The basis of the show, from the original casting notices, has a family of five testing how well they know each other’s level of intelligence. What that boils down to is unknown right not, though. The other part we know, from recent info, is that teams are given $1,000,000 in advance and attempt to keep or lose it through answering questions from different subjects they choose. A wrong answer deducts money from their total. However, they are given the opportunity to double their money at the end of the show which leads me to believe they are going to lose a massive amount throughout the questioning.

FOX TV is selling this show internationally as well as in the US. I think it would be a safe gamble to see this show on FOX (especially since the ratings for The Moment of Truth are going to dangerous levels), but who knows. NBC might be desperate within a few weeks of the new Fall 2008 season.
