FOX is doing a major casting blitz over places such as Craigslist looking for contestants for their new quiz show “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” They are looking for people over 25 with amazing personalities, looks, and brains. They are really stressing the looks over every single posting. For some reason I’m sure they will look at that more than the brains. So far my hypothesis that this show is going to become “Haha, that guy doesn’t know what a fifth grader does” show more than a decent quiz show. The bad part is that this will probably last longer than “The Rich List” as well. Such a shame.
SMARTER THAN A FIFTH GRADER CASTING

Of course it’ll last longer than The Rich List. It’ll get an 8.0 after Idol. 30 minutes of adverts would get an 8.0 after Idol. (Actually, I shouldn’t have said that. Fox will try it next.)

Actually, other than what I assume would be embarassment for doing so, Fox could probably SELL the entire 30 minutes post 90-minute idol as an infomercial post and get almost as good of a rating (although I don’t know that nielsen would give it a “rating” it if it was an infomercial. Of course, some “programming” in the past few years barely counted as much more than a network informercial, like a few years ago when “Iwon.com” had their first million dollar winner announcement as a “show” on CBS, and that probably included ads between the “show ad”).

Just like all FOX game shows, this ain’t gonna last long. It is already not going to be as good as GREED. The Celebrity Spelling bee challenge will last longer than List and 5th Grade combined.
I would like to try out for this show, but I ain’t gonna chance it.

I’ve got brains and a darn good personality. But since FOX is looking for people with a six pack, I won’t be taking my chances with auditioning for this anytime soon.
