First Look at “Bingo America”

Here’s another one of BuzzerBlog’s first looks at a new game show. This time we go to GSN’s new show: Bingo America. Somehow, nothing is known of the rules so far. All I know is that people apparently earn letters by answering questions and it seems like if you spell BINGO, you win a bank. The winner at the end plays the Bonus Board where you apparently can win $100,000. This is GSN’s first show to regularly offer a six figure sum since Russian Roulette, and it’s very appreciated that some money is being put into a show. Bingo America debuts on March 31st at 7:00PM ET on GSN. And yes, the gigantic bingo hopper from ABC survives.

Finally! A big-money game original game show on GSN! I’m excited!

  • Joe Mello says:

So Russian Roulette and all of the gambling games (including Dream Derby) weren’t big-money enough for you?

I have a feeling that the endgame is standard Bingo where if you don’t win within X number of pulls, the $100,000 gets reduced. Just a hypothesis.

This looks very, very GOOD! Can’t wait to see it!

Also, it definitely looks like GSN is still very committed to creating some long-standing hit originals (like Lingo). Afterward, I bet you we will all be thinking “You know, this is what NBN really should have been.

One question, who’s the Hostess? At first glance I thought it was Shanndi( wishful thinking, I know) but who is that?

  • Alex Davis says:

I meant to publish that, thanks for reminding me. The Bingo America model is Crystal Wallasche. I swear to god I thought it was Stacey Hayes, the Lingo season 3 co-host (who I actually preferred over Shandi). But apparently not.

What’s funny is that the GSN version of Bingo America has a bigger top prize than the ABC edition. Outstanding. It also means that they are bound to have some big money gambling for the top prize a-la Russian Roulette which is fantastic. I can’t see them giving someone a shot at $100,000 with no risk.

This set just screams “GSN original” – it kinda looks like the sets of Lingo, Chain Reaction, Whammy, and Camouflage all rolled into one. But the show as a whole does look promising.

  • David says:

Maybe you decide how many cards you want to play with, and you then get x amount of pulls to get a bingo on any card- with 100K if you only play a single card. If you use a limit of 20 balls to get any bingo, on a single card, there is a 2.28745% probability of producing a Bingo on or before the 20th number is called. (so say you can win $100K for 1 card, 50K for 3, 25K for 6, and 10K for 9- the odds do go up the more cards you have of getting one bingo on any of the cards)

So David, what will the contestant get for NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Bingo? (sorry I had to, you would have, too.) :p

  • Antony says:

this may be the best oriogional9sp) they have come up with since lingo, but we’ll see.

  • Scott Meckley says:

This looks like it’s going to be a very interesting show.

  • Chris says:

I dont count dream derby (reality show bs — and got plugs for their dream derby race on TVG and TVHorseracing channel) the latter was there live to pump the race/betting up.

Also, all the gambling shows, HSP, WSoBJ they got to pay to play, so it’s not a gameshow, they are risking to get the prize(s) they get, and not being on a gameshow trying to win it like DonD, Millionaire etc

  • William says:

Who’s the lady next to Patrick Duffy?

  • Anonymous Me says:

I’ve seen the final round first-hand. It has nothing to do with pulls or anything! And yes, you do get a shot at $100,000 with no risk, but the chances of getting it are slim.

I gave Alex (website runner) full info and he’ll fill you in.

  • Brandon says:

Sounds interesting, but GSN, please brighten up the set on this one.

  • gail says:

how do you get the card’s or where?
