Explanation With What’s Going On + Input Post
As you noticed, we changed the site a bit. We’re joining Embassy Row to cast people for the second season of “World Series of Pop Culture”, airing on VH1. If you click the top logo, it will take you to the site to register and will give you the audition cities. As a little heads up, the returning champs: El Chupacabra will be returning to take home the trophy and another $250,000. The terrific Pat Kiernan will be returning as host. Before we get comments: no, the site won’t be staying like this forever or for very long. We just want to get the point across to people to sign up. Plus, I have to be honest, I like this look much better. We might have to think of something less empty in the near future. However, back on topic, we would LOVE to get a crew of BuzzerBlog readers to try out and make the show, so get out there!
In the mean, I’d like to do one thing before Thanksgiving. We’re going to steal an idea from our good friends at TVSquad: What are five things you are thankful for this year game show wise? Please comment or email what you are most thankful for this game/reality/casino year. Unless some breaking news comes, Buzzer will be on hiatus until Sunday, so I would like to say what I am thankful for: your continued reading. You ladies and gentlemen make BuzzerBlog what it is, and you are making us one of the most popular game show sites on the net after a little more than a year. We thank you and hope to see you back next week. Have a terrific break.

5 things Im thankful for in the game show world (not necessarily in order here )
1) Deal Or No Deal being a hit on NBC.
2) 1 vs 100 is actually an exciting game with Bob Saget hosting this
3) Deal Or No Deal is still on the air.
4) more game shows are coming soon
5) Family Feud got a new set
what is anyone else thankful for in the game show world
The 5 things I’m thankful for:
1) Card Sharks marathon tomorrow on GSN
2) The MG documentary on Sunday
3) Feud finally getting back on track (at least in the opinions of others, for me, Dawson’s the ONLY host of Feud)
4) The fact that Dick DeBartolo is doing something OTHER THAN writing for game shows…
5) GAME SHOW MARATHON!!! That was a total breath of fresh game show air. I kinda wished that the MG final did NOT have Lance Bass, but other than that, I felt really good about GSM.
BJ
The 5 things I’m thankful for:
1) More than 2 game shows in prime time
2) 1 vs 100 getting better as it went along
3) A pilot for a US version of Temptation
4) The Joker’s Wild coming back
5) The beginning of the end for tasteless reality shows!
Admittedly unusual due to my UK perspective…
1. UK DoND has maintained huge cult hit status in spite of potential show-killing moments
2. Big Brother is a fading force
3. Godawful UK reality show Love Island has been killed
4. The ending of PokerFace. Sweet, sweet poetic justice
5. Eamonn Holmes proved himself to a US audience even if he couldn’t save a format that could only have stood a chance in daytime
If anyone is interested, I’d like to form a WSOPC team and if it came down to it, go to the Chicago casting call. E-mail me at BTornado14@twmi.rr.com if you wanna go for it!
An interesting UK perspective.
I thought PokerFace was great, outside of Ant and Dec (but you can’t get rid of the hosts/creators of the game) and the million pound top prize after just 7 games. I hope it returns for another series.
Eamonn Holmes…I don’t think he proved anything on this side of the pond. He was seen here for 1 hour, and not by many people apparently. Holmes brought nothing great to the table. Honestly, I thought he came across as more dry than he does on Sudo-Q.
1) Deal Or No Deal being a hit on NBC.
2) More game shows coming soon.
3) Bob Barker finally retiring.
4) 1 vs 100 solid in the ratings.
5) Steve Beverly making his site with news once a week that way he can report game show news without bias.
