Adam B. Vary, a writer for Entertainment Weekly, was given an opportunity to play the role of Rossi Morreale on the set of Temptation. You can see video of Mr. Vary’s time at Temptation here. Disregard Mr. Vary’s hosting abilities and pay attention to the show itself. My excitement level for Temptation went from “eager to see it but don’t have much faith in its success” to “the MyTV preview in 4 days can’t get here soon enough”. Enjoy!

I like what I’m seeing, The set is nice, the theme music is the typical stuff we get these days and it seems they msotly kept the rules true to the old show, PLEASE AIR IN MY AREA!!!

This looks really good. I am definitely looking forward to it. The set’s close to the Australian set, which is what I expected. The game play looks good. I’m just happy some station here in Philly picked it up. OK, not Philly, but Allentown. Close enough, since all cable companies here in PHilly carry it. SO…yeah!

Game starts off with the speed round. Very nice that my network is showing a primetime preview as well!

Adam did… okay for an amateur, I guess (certainly better than Patrick Wayne or Ricki Lake).
So, does this mean that the door for guest-hosting gigs will now be open for not-so-average Joes (like myself)? I’m always up for a guest-hosting gig on Press Your Luck (if they ever do another revival, that is).
Still, I’m looking forward to Temptation’s premiere. It looks like it’ll be good (although I’d change the Fame Game back to the Australian version- the new version doesn’t quite fit in).

To the person above: You do realize that the Entertainment Weekly guy was just hosting for fun and that his disaster of a hosting job will never be seen on air. Temptation will not be having anyone guest hosting.

To HQ: Yeah, I was pretty much aware of that. Still, I do hope they’ll have one episode in the future with a guest host (namely Jim Perry).

But to that, I say, how many people, outside of the game show fanbase really know who Jim Perry is? GSN doesn’t show “Sale of the Century”, and I doubt enough viewers will realize he’s the original “Card Sharks” host.
I’m surprised that horrible 2001 “Card Sharks” revival even made a shout-out to him.

My sentiments basically lie with the others. The set looks great, and the smidgens of game seen thus far also look very good. The set is also very cool, complete with the revolving door… :)
However, don’t get that guy into a hosting gig again, please, and we’ll all be happy. :D

Good news: Temptation finally cleared in Richmond.
Bad news: It cleared in a double-run at 11:00 AM local time on MyNetworkTV Richmond, which is a digital-TV and digital-cable channel here. Of course, there’s another game show with a new host that’s airing at that same time on CBS… :) my DVR is getting a workout this fall, I can tell…

To Brandon (in regards to how many people may remember Jim Perry):
Well, maybe a few elderly viewers, a couple overly-eager college kids, some casual GSN viewers, a guy named Fred from Akron, Ohio, and Phil from accounting. Aside from that, you’re probably right.
Still, I hope that further down the road (if Temptation gets renewed for a second season), the suits that be might consider letting Jim Perry fill-in one day. Hey, if they let (the late) Peter Tomarken host a round of Whammy, who’s to say it can’t be done?

Like the clip and the show, BUT I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT NO STATION HERE IN PITTSBURGH PICKED UP THE SHOW!!!! If I am wrong, please tell me.

OK, you’re wrong. :-P WBGN will carry it. OK, so you’re partially right because I hear very few people get WBGN.

I was just a contestant on this show. It is so much fun! One of my best days ever. I cannot wait to the America Idols play the game tonight!
