Episode One of Podcast Game Show “Double Cross” Now Live
Months of writing and planning and plugging has finally come to a close. Today we debuted the web’s first podcast quiz show Double Cross. This first episode is a special wedding edition. We had a very nice turn out for contestant casting, and some real characters applied. The wedding edition worked out better than any of us could have imagined. Listen as engaged couple Chris Michaud and Melanie Morin face off against each other and minister Travis Peterson in a game where what you don’t know won’t hurt you. Be sure to subscribe to us and rate us on iTunes and help us move up the podcast ranking so we can afford to give you more cash and prizes for winning. You can download the show directly by clicking here as well.
The rules to Double Cross are simple and it’s easy and fun to play along with on your iPhone or any other MP3 device. Contestants are given a question. They have to choose an answer. Even if they don’t know it they need to make it sound convincing, because his or her opponents have the power to accept the answer or say it’s a bluff answer and that person is trying to Cross them. Being right gives you a point no matter what, but being caught in a cross loses points. If you are gutsy and can manage to get a bluff answer by both of your opponents you’ll Double Cross them and score two. The lowest score is out of the round, and the final two face off head-to-head. The eventual winner plays for the daily prize and if the champion has one of the three highest scores of the season that person will be back for the championship match and the grand prize.
I have to pimp this a bit right now: the higher up on iTunes’s ranking we get the more listeners we’re getting, the more attention, and the more money the show brings in. The more money the show brings in the larger the prize we can give away to you. We’ve got huge plans for season two and how to reward you even more, and I want to bring in another podcast game show eventually given the success of this. If you have iTunes and you want to get all the updates for this show please be sure to subscribe and rate us and you’ll help us out more than you know. You can also sign up for our feed and have it delivered to you instantly.
This show would not be remotely possible if it weren’t for the sponsors and writers at QuizQuizQuiz. They helped us create, write, and fund the show. I wanted to be sure to give you something in return for playing and winning and they helped tremendously. Also thanks to Only Connect writer David Bodycombe for helping with the format. Without him this show wouldn’t happen either. Indeed, Double Cross is basically a British show. I’m the only American working on it. We tried to make an entertaining, funny, and fun quiz show that you can play along with while driving or walking or at your office or wherever. The reviews have been great so far, and I really hope we continue to get as many listeners as we’ve gotten today so we can get a second season taped soon. New episodes will be posted every Monday. We’re going to try to throw some bonus trivia games on the podcast feed also.

I enjoyed it a lot. Keep it up! Can't wait for more and hopefully you get other podcast game shows in the future. I would love if there was a whole Podcast Game Show Network !

I enjoyed it alot to!
It had a fantastic and wholly original front game, but I thought the end game was really plain and uninspired.
I really liked it. Keep up the good work! :)
Alex, you sound a LOT like Bob Goen…
Well thank you I hope since Bob is awesome, haha.
Thanks for all the compliments. I really hate to do this constantly but we're really trying a giant push here and it's working so far. We were in the top 20 of all Gaming podcasts and I think we can keep doing this. The more listeners and the higher the ranking, the more money we end up giving away.

Listened to it on my run last night. Very enjoyable. Just out of curiosity, what is the tiebreaker? I thought an alternating list a-la the WSOPC-tiebreaker would be fun, but with the added twist that if a player gives a wrong answer, the other player (in lieu of giving an answer) needs to declare that the previous answer was wrong. Failure to do so results in a loss, as does an incorrect cross.
I have to say, I was very impressed with how clear Skype was for the broadcast as well (that's what you used, yes?)
