Early Details on Syndie 2008: New Bowling Show?

The Hollywood Reporter gave an early glimpse into syndication shows for 2008. Right now Buena Vista is in early stages of development for a bowling-centric game show that revolves around celebrities playing the game. It’s being called “Up Your Alley”. Magical. Well, let’s be honest, we just heard Bingo is coming back to TV. Did we think it would be this long before bowling did? I call FOX’s Extreme Tiddly Winks next.

Also, it does state that NBC is still very keen on doing a syndicated edition of “Deal or No Deal” in 2008, so I’m crossing my fingers for that one. Twentieth Television is also said to be working on a new game or two, so keep on the lookout as I’m sure details will be flying in rapidly.

Am I the only one who would like a tiny bit of news about “Temptation”? I mean it’s not that far away from being on the air. Pardon us if we don’t have a lot of updates this weekend. I’m going to see my home team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, play for the first time in a while, so I’ll be away for a bit. I have to have home town pride occasionally.

I think that Al Roker should host Deal in syndication in 2008 after his success doing a week of Millionaire shows as host.

  • Donald says:

Al Roker is a good choice. I just really didn’t picture Arsenio hosting Syndi-Deal.

    Todd Newton? No
Ryan Seacrest? HELL Naw. Guy’s got enough shows as it is.
    Tom Bergeron? Good idea

  • David Howell says:

I gather Al Roker got mixed reviews (not least here) for his week on Millionaire, and it seems as though he’d be a better fit for DoND.

  • keith says:

Al Roker would be good, The thought of Tom Begeron seems good too. It would be good to see Marc Summers host a game show again, whether DOND in syndication would be his show, i’m not sure.

  • Brad Hasbrouck says:

I think Jennifer Berry should host DoND in Syndication in 2008 after her success hosting Pageant School: Finding Miss America prior to her of Miss America came to an end?

  • Zach says:

You can’t have a female host DoND, Brad. I can’t imagine male models holding those suitcases regularly

  • Marc Power says:

the french-canadian version has a female host and a combination of male and female models (i think 21 female models and 5 male models.) If millionaire wasn’t on anymore I consider Meredith Viera. but since it is on I’ll nominate Eamon Holmes (sp?). he did the rich list well Fox just mis-managed it.

  • Chris says:

I don’t know why people always assume that the only people that can host game shows are other game show hosts.

Also, a syndicated Deal or No Deal sounds like a bad idea, ratings wise. Primetime Deal or No Deal will lose its luster if you can see some other version five times a week. And considering how weak NBC’s lineup of shows is, they could really use DoND on their schedule as a ratings booster and a way to lead in to new or struggling shows..
