Five new DVD game updates for you. First, we have received word that the Press Your Luck DVD game can now be found at local s Blockbuster stores. A quick check reveals that it’s also available at Amazon for $19.95, a savings of four cents off the original price. Whoopee.
While peeking around at Amazon, we also found information on these next four games:
A big surprise on this one: the Family Feud 3rd Edition DVD is OUT!!! It’s available at Amazon for $19.99, and, surprisingly, the ONLY change on the box art from the previous two editions is that O’Hurley’s on there now. Whoop-dee-doo.
Two other DVD games coming out in July include Jeopardy and Who Wants to Be A Millionaire, selling for $49.99 and $23.99, respectively. Both are set to be released in early July, according to Amazon.
And the final game, of which we have no idea when it will be released, is the 1 vs. 100 DVD. This one can be preordered for $19.99 at Amazon. It will be made by Mattel, so we’re expecting something as good, if not better, than the tabletop game.
I want to encourage you, if you do see PYL or Feud somewhere, please let us know by commenting. I will also try my best to check a few stores tomorrow, and report back on any findings.

I will be looking forward to the 1 vs 100 DVD and the Millionaire game. I hope that the 1 vs 100 will be exactly like the NBC version with the three helps (Ask The Mob, Poll The Mob and Trust The Mob) I also hope that there will be a sneak peak when you get from 10 people down to 1.

I saw the Jeopardy! DVD set at Toys “R” Us the other day. It looked really good as it has a remote console also for the three wireless handheld buzzers, or, as Alex would say, “Signaling devices.” It was selling for about $60. I nearly bought it, but it seems that the questions might all be multiple choice. The buzzers had a main button and three other buttons to choose answers. The back of the box said something about multiple choice clues, but I wasn’t sure if that was for certain clues or for the whole game. I called the 800 customer service line on the box, but they said since it is fairly new, they haven’t received the info yet. Since my friends and I like a little better challenge, I passed this time, but I would love to know if anyone has bought it, and how it is.

Endless Games says Match Game DVD should be out around July. A call to them finds that it will be available at most major retailers.

I found the PYL DVD game on eBay, and lemme tell ya, it’s not great. My ratings (/10):
Graphics = 10 (AMAZING!! Features clips from orig. show incl. M. Larson)
Gameplay = 8 (Pts. off for three rounds, and the board has 6 squares lit at a time)
Trueness to show = 6 (See above)
Host = 7.5 (Todd Newton does a good job, although he looks sunburned)
Overall = 6.75 (and I’m being generous)

Your math is off Andrew. You gave everything decent or high numbers, but your overall is a “generous” 6.75. Honestly, everything averages out to a 7.875, which is pretty good.

Math, sh-math, the game is “meh”. Oh, and the case for the DVD is FREAKING HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!!!!!!!! The DVD is a normal one, and the box is like a VHS box (if anyone still knows what a VHS is) times 2!

Scott Meckley, you will be pleased. I got the 1 vs. 100 electronica game from Target, and have played it a few times…and once you are down to 1 vs. 10, you get a sneak peek of each question before having to decide whether to take on the mob.
The audio is OK but not great, the scrolling is difficult to read on longer questions, but overall a very nice true-to-the-game version, well worth the price.

I just received the Family Feud 3rd Edition DVD Game from amazon.com today and in my opinion it’s better than the 2nd Edition DVD Game. It all starts with the audience clapping and John O’Hurley entering from the set. The questions are narrated by John O’Hurley not Burton Richardson who read the questions on the 1st & 2nd Editions of the Family Feud DVD Game.So I strongly recommend that you go buy it at amazon.com so you don’t have to wait in August. Oh and one other thing instead of the 2 wipe clean score cards and the 2 marker pens you only get a score pad to keep score.
