You know, why have I never does these awards in the past? This one would be fun for all. I didn’t get a chance to watch The Price is Right last night, but apparently there was a “memorable” “special” contestant. I have no problem with the excited jumping contestants, they make the show fun to watch. However, people like this? Maybe someone ran over him in the parking lot after the show aired. Of course by putting the clip of his pathetic bid run, he got what he wanted. You know he was just begging to be on YouTube with this stuff, so the poster gave him what he wanted. But regardless, take a look. Congrartulations, contestant. You are a douche bag.

On one hand…Thanks for taking a legitimate contestant’s chance of winning.
On the other hand…The producers picked him.
Who’s really at fault?

I think it’s time to let Jeff Thistead and Scott Robinson start picking contestants.

Seriously… the 69/420 bidding joke has worn out its welcome, remember TPiR is a FAMILY show, but on top of everything he’s wearing his fraternity’s shirt, so he does TWO things:
1) Makes an ass of himself
2) Makes a joke out of his fraternity, and furthermore portraying stereotypes of frat guys, as dumb brainless jocks. Congratulations DOUCHE!

Tyler B., Amen and Amen. I knew this contestant was a “problem child” with his bidding of $420 and later $2,000,000.
If anyone want to come up with “funny” bids, try something “logical” and under the radar like $516 (grand prize on “The Gong Show”; subtracting the 32 cents to round off to the nearest dollar), $470 or even $525 (”odd numbered” amounts on “Press Your Luck’s” first round board).

Jeez, lots of hate for Stan Blitz. He’s gonna make mistakes every now and then, this was just a BIG mistake.

I always said to myself that the next time I went to TPIR, I would tell Roger that I’d make a deal with him: if I got on the show, I’d promise not to bid $420.
(Of course, I would wait for my opportunity and bid $1337 when the time was right.)
In any event, I refuse to watch that video, simply because it would give that twerp exactly what he wants: attention. Besides, it’s not the first time someone’s gone up there and made an ass of himself bidding $420 every single time.

If anyone’s a fan of South Park…you’ll get this one…
Here he is,
The biggest douche of the universe.
In all the galaxies,
There’s no bigger douche than you.
You’ve reached the top,
The pinnacle of douchedom.
Good goin’ douche.
Your dream has come true.
And now for something completely unrelated, Alex keep doing what you’re doing. I’m a huge fan of buzzerblog.

I am sorry, I must be missing something. The $2 million bid was just silly, and probably Bob B. would have talked him out of that. But I am totally lost at what was so “significant” about his other bids.

I doubt that Stan felt any regret about picking this contestant. I think he particularly seeks out these types of contestants every once in a while, perhaps at the behest of some higher-ups, for the very reason that it will get people talking. Let’s face it, while we diehard game show fans may want to see people who can actually play the game, “average” viewers watch game and reality shows to see people make idiots of themselves. That’s why people go for shows like DoND and Fifth Grader. It’s sad that TPiR has to sink to this level, but as long as they don’t fully DoND-ize the show, I can’t complain too much.
But yes, the contestant really needs some perspective if he thinks that acting this way on national TV is going to do any favors for him (and for his frat brothers who were probably egging him on). Is this really something he’s going to look back fondly on 20, 10, or even 5 years from now?

Douglas, “69″ is a sexual position, referring to oral activities. “420″ is a popular phrase referring to marijuana.
In this event, it’s pretty childish to make a bid based on this, esp. when it’s just about every single bid.
I know Stan didn’t realize what he’d gotten, but it’s extremely obnoxious for a contestant to go on the show for the sole purpose of making Youtube.

The real shame of it is, he wasn’t even smart about being stupid.
He ran out of reasonable material after about two or three bids, whether they were numbers with meaning, or numbers that look pretty. I’m willing to believe that if I was dared to pull a stunt like that, I could still manage to make a reasonable bid every time. 420 (if absolutely necessary), 501, 649, 747, 911, …. 555, 666, 777, 1234, …. 1492, 1066, 1812; 1691, 808, 1001, 585 (works on that particular display), …. Any range of numbers I want to hit, I can hit.
On the other hand, he denied one individual from the audience the chance to play, but he increased *everyone* else’s chance if they were called. Strangely enough, I think he did more good than harm.

He had an unorthodox bidding style. Except for the $2M bid, the other bids weren’t out in left field. So what? THe $2M bid was not smart by any means!! TO say he’s a “douche bag” is going way over the top though.

Maybe he was a pledge, and his frat-brothers-to-be made him do this. Why someone would blow a chance to win fabulous prizes like this I’ll never know.
But really, does the average demo of this show (apart from college students) really get the significance of what he bid? The 2 million just came off as idiotic…

I’m a little surprised after the $2m bid someone didn’t pull him aside and say “quit joking around” what makes him a douche to me is the fact he voluntarily gave up a chance at at these great prizes and cash just to be funny. he’s going to regret that for the next 10 years until he’s eligible to come back, but I doubt the producers will pick him again.
and in reply to erick’s south park thing:
Weeelll, Joesph’s a douche He’s a big fat douche He’s the biggest douche in the whole wide world He’s a stupid douche if there ever was a douche, he’s a douche to all the boys and girls”
On Monday he’s a douche, On Tuesday he’s a douche, And Wednesday through Saturday he’s a douche! Then on Sunday just to be different he’s a super huge kamehamaeha douchebag!”
“Have you ever this douchebag Joesph? He’s the biggest douche in the whole wide world, He’s a dumb ol’ douche and he has a stupid smile, he’s a douche, douche, douche, douche, douche, douche, douche, He’s a stupid douche. Hey…I’m the one who posted the video. Donno the guy (don’t want to). I just posted the video because it’s easier to believe this dumbassery with a video.
The first 420 is pathetic, but expected. 777 comes out of nowhere, then he starts with the X69. Then $2,000,000. Never before in my history of watching game shows have I ever wanted a contestant to be thrown off the show DURING the show.
I’m just glad Barker wasn’t around. It would have been two minutes of “OMG HISTORIC MOMENT” after that seven-digit bid.

The perspective from an industry folk…I think it’s cute, and in a way I don’t. The first one for giggles is fine whatever. Having a “Beavis and Butthead” sense of humor…I laughed. But when you continue “trolling”, then it get’s old. It’s then becomes unfair and a disservice to the other people who voluntarily stand in line for HOURS. After strike three, I probably would have pulled him off to the side with Eskander.

Like a banjo? :) I think I might be tempted to throw that bid and let someone else have it, even if it meant handing them a chance at a car.

This is a contestant that doesn’t deserve parting gifts. To quote David Sammartino, “He made a mockery out of the sport of professional wrestling.” Just replace sport with gameplay and professional wrestling with The Price Is Right, and that pretty much sums it up. I do have a feeling that this dumbass will be The Soup’s Clip of the Week.

This isn’t the best game show opportunity to waste looking like an idiot.
If you want that, go on GSN.

To be fair, this poor schmuck isn’t the first of his kind to be picked to be contestant on TPIR. (Fortunately) It’s just that there are so few of them, and they’re so far between, that we forget the ones that preceded him (unless, I guess, one goes out of their way to search YouTube to find some others.
At the end of the day, though, it really is kinda sad. It reminds me of a running line said by Damon Wayans as “Homey the Clown” on IN LIVING COLOR: “…you know what dignity is? It’s the opposite of the way you feel right now!”

Obviously this guy was thinking about having drugs ang making love after the show. Give somebody else a chance to play who want to win. It do not make any since to pick a contestant who bids very stupid.

Having actually sat in on Price is Right contestant interviews (yes, through all 320 people), there is no way Stan could have known that this guy was going to do this lame stuff. There have been many occasions where a contestant acts one way in line and then is totally different on camera. It’s not Stan’s fault.
