It seems to me, by naming the show "Big Saturday Night" was that GSN was trying to create an English-language competitor to "Sábado Gigante". I have to admit, I have stopped on "Sábado Gigante" while channel surfing, even though I understand 10, maybe 20, Spanish words. Apparently in GSN's attempt to steal a little thunder, they assumed if they threw something on, people will flock to it because English was spoken.

Finally, A good thing to get rid of the BSN once it's over.

Yeah, Big Saturday night is gone!

I hope I'm not jumping the gun in saying this, but why didn't they bury BS Night sooner?
This has to have been the biggest waste of money and logistics since "Think Like A Cat".
Hopefully, they'll air 20Qs and The Money List on weeknights from now on, so that at least it'll eventually be disassociated from GSN's biggest programming blunder of 2009 (a close second: getting rid of Card Sharks, Let's Make A Deal, Blockbusters and Press Your Luck from the lineup).

The moderator on the GSN boards said that a form of Big Saturday Night will continue after this is done on August 22nd. She said it will have a different format.

  • Ben says:

Perhaps "GSN Live: Weekend Edition". That is all that could possibly be repackaged out of the BSN mold.
