“Deal or No Deal” Officially Canceled

This comes as a shock to no one really, but Broadcasting and Cable today confirmed that the syndicated version of Deal or No Deal has been canceled.  That means no original episodes of the show will air next season.  Deal or No Deal has been on the air on NBC primetime and syndicated daytime for five years.

DoND Finally got the snuff out.
1st smart move by NBC in the longest time.
But DoND will be missed. It did supply us with some historic TV Moments.
and brought Howie Mandel back. So Thanks for the Memories DoND.

    GSN should rerun syndie DOND!

  • Corrections: ____KTVU/KICU runs Family Feud, not KBCW in the Bay Area__KDAF in DFW not KFWD which is managed by Belo Corp.__

  • I'm betting that ION Networks pick up the rights to DOND since they replay Feud and if not FamilyNet since they have MGXWords.

    sorry JackBauer112.

Even though i did like the syndicated version. I think 22 models and one contestants would have worked better. As far as the primetime NBC screwed it up the 4th season when they started showing what was coming up.

Hooray! This crap is finally off our screens! I have been wating for this day for a long time. I knew it wouldn't be long before DoND left the air, as it was getting very stale. Watching complete idiots yell and scream on TV can only stay interesting for so long, eh? Howie's new gig on America's Got Talent was the final nail in the coffin, it seems. Good riddance to this trainwreck.

Don't give GSN any more reasons to run more of Deal. They already run the NBC version four times a day weekdays. If they also run syndie Deal, then no other shows will be able to get on their already five-show lineup!

From what i hear, British Deal has been having ratings, host, and financial issues. I wouldn't call them fine and well, but at least they didn't have a network screwing them over…the same network that screwed over Conan and West Coast Olympic fans.

Sigh, although this show was doomed anyway. Thanks a lot NBC. Rest in peace DOND.

    GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE!

DoND was a mediocre game show that ripped off many classic game shows (Let's Make a Deal, Treasure Hunt) and modernized it (dumbed it down) for a younger and modern audience (the ADD crowd). This show was an unexplainable hit (tell that to Harry Friedman) that everyone was talking about and definitely must see for the young crowd. However, now it seems that everyone including it's young fans have gotten sick of it. Maybe it's because of someone winning the milliom dollars on the NBC version or maybe it's because of how simple and unchallenging the game is (seriously, opening cases is all their is to it). But I also can't help but think GSN numerous promotions and frequent airings of the show helped kill it. DoND only had 4 short Seasons on NBC and GSN airs and promote them constantly "you have no idea people NO IDEA!".

I know this is off topic, but wasn't 1 vs100 a ripoff of Greed and WWTBAM as well?
