It’s amusing to me that a primetime show that’s only been on the air for about a year and a half can have 100 episodes done already. Regardless, the show that started a new craze in game shows today, Deal or No Deal, will celebrate it’s 100th episode on Sunday, May 6th, at 9PM ET. The set will be covered in party decorations, plus there will be a few surprises. Want a sneak peak at one of the surprises? Look under the break to see who or what’s coming back.
UPDATE: OK, NBC did confirm that Brooks Leach will be invited back to play. He will also receive a special message from Ozzy Osbourne. Former contestants are also invited back to be in the audience. All of this is on Sunday, May 6th at 9PM ET. Following that is a “film” about the 90s edition of Saturday Night Live featuring all the good old cast members like Dana Carvey, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Mike Myers, and Chris Rock. The 90s with Tina Fey was the last time that the show was good, so be sure to check that out.
Yes, this is former contestant Brooks Leach. You can read about his legendary game here and even see what he had to say about it. Until we get a press release, we’re seeing a lot of pictures of him, and it looks like Deal or No Deal invited him to play on the 100th episode.

You must think the Today Show is hilarious. In its first year and a half, it aired nearly 400 episodes.

Well if the Today Show was a primetime show I’d find it funnier. Since it’s a daytime show it’s really not that funny.

I had to see this before heading out………
HOLY (bleep)! You mean he’s getting a SECOND CHANCE to win the Million?! That is NICE!
I mean, to be honest with you, I thought Brooks was truly one of the better contestants this season. I really liked the guy, he was warm, funny, and no, he’s not mentally challenged. Listen Brooks, if you’re reading I just want you to know that a lot of people in the Internet game show community tend to make reactionary judgments on DOND contestants just on how they look, act, or how they did on the show. I am not one of those people, because unlike some, I realize that these people don’t really “know” you, and shouldn’t judge you just because you won only $10 you’re first time out. I’m sure if these people actually got to know you, they would find that you are a good and competent person to be around.
In closing, IMO, if anyone deserved a second chance to win big, it should most be definitely be you. A warning though: PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL HOW YOU DID! NBC will probably do that in the promo. :p LOL
Seriously, we want to find out for ourselves, okay. Hope you make the most of your second wind, so to speak, I for one hope you win just to forever close the big mouths of the people who chided you. Good luck.

Ah, I see. When you add the word primetime, it does make a little more sense.

Ther have been some disastorous endings for some of the contestants on Deal. Although there was a bigger… I guess there’s no other way to put it; loser than Brooks (the lady who won $5 between the $1 and $5 cases), but I do think that here and there a contestant should get a second chance at the $1,000,000. I would like to see how it turns out.

Brooks Leach having another crack. Or in other words, a former winner having another crack at $1 million, Three words to describe that.

Deal or No Deal already jump the shark when they got too overrated with themself so that’s why I don’t watch anymore…

I agree. I used to watch this show religiously this time last year…. now I stick to the UK one… its so much better. Though the format is slightly different, at least it is relatable, as the one here is no longer. But thats my opinion anyway. Oh well, it was good when it started.

100 episodes already? Great to see that Brooks will be coming back.

Honestly, Brooks was a great contestant and I was hoping he would have won more on his first appearance.
Now the question is who will be in the audience specifically? Michelle Falco? Gary Riotta? Can’t remember his name, but the guy that had like 350,000+ taking the deal, but could have walked with $3,000,000? Or maybe some of the contestants that bailed out too soon and had the million in their case? And i’m sure this would probably be something like a 2hr event. or is it?

I’m sure this will have filler to make it at least 90 minutes.
I’d have put Cheryl ‘$5′ Jackson ahead of Brooks on the more obvious choices, but I think if anyone should have a second chance - and that’s a huge if - it should be someone who had such an ugly game that it would have taken someone as cowardly as Dave ’sold a million at offer three’ Apperton to win more than a few thousand dollars…

Speaking of the UK Deal, is there somewhere on the net where I can watch ENTIRE episodes everyday and not just the last 10 minutes on youtube?

I don’t think so for you guys - Channel 4’s on-demand web service (free for shows aired in the last week) is only available to British/Irish residents.

Donald,
There is at least one torrent site which offers full episodes. I have been a member of that site for over 14 months. Membership at the site is likely closed right now, but can open up at any time when the number of members drops below 25,000.

So number 100? How many million will the jackpot be this time? first it was 2, then 3 then 4, then 5, then 6… Now what? 10 million? 20 million?

Now that DorND has reached its 100th episode, let’s give them some ideas for episode 101 and beyond as this show is getting a little Millionaire-esque (Regis’ version of course.):
- Please do not give away the case number that the contestant has picked, it ruins the surprise. As least, blur it out.
- Blurring out the models in the promo is another good idea as well as the good chime for a left-side amount.
- No more going to a commercial before the last case of the round is opened. Is it just me, or are you getting a little sick and tired of this not to mention that other shows have copied this style. Could you see Bob Barker doing this on say, the grand game?! We’ll see if you’ve won the $10,000….right after this. Yesh!
- I think it is finally time to let the contestants play the game on their own! I have the computer version and the last thing I need is 3 or 4 people giving me bad advice when the offer reaches 6 figures. I think people can figure out when to draw the line. (BTW, I have opened a case on the computer game for $1,000,000. I know it’s not real, but it beats these real life contestants who haven’t come close. Of course I’m not knocking Michelle Falco, my favorite DorND player to date, who courageously turned down $500,000+ to end up with $750,000….which was in her case.)
And last of all…(you might agree with me on this one)
- Can we please have at least one night where 1 contestant does not play the game for the entire hour?! I remember when Joe Trela won the million of Millionaire back in ‘99 (or was it 2000?), 3 contestants including Trela got to play the game. Whatever happend to “Pick up the pace”?!

I have another thought that Michael (#17) missed which I would like to see, a progressive jackpot. After each game, if a contestant has not won the million, increase the top amount by at least $100,000 a contestant, but leave the other 25 amounts the same. I think that would add a different element to making the big decision on whether to take the money or to go on.

I have to agree with Michael about something let the contestants play on there own. I don’t know how many times this season where a contestant i’m sure thought about taking the deal and you have some of these family and friends telling them one more time do the supporters even look at the board when they say this.
I also as much as I love watching this show one contestant in an hour is ridiculous and i think not having the supporters would be one way to speed up the pace of the show a bit. I also like the jackpot idea too.

Good point. I didnt factor in on the loved ones when it comes to the players’ decisions. If it weren’t for the family members, that buff scottish dude (which btw, had a feeling that someone in the front rows behind him might have seen more than they bargained for if y aknow what I mean. LMAO) or the marine guy would have been the first and second Millionaires.
One more thing, can anyone make out the odds of having two players in one episode have $1,000,000 cases right next to them? It seems so very odd to me.

There were three contestants that night…
Probability of two of them having the million is (1/26)*(1/26)*(25/26)*(3C2)=0.004267.
That’s one in 234. Almost the same as finishing with the top two on a 22-box version, which here in the UK has happened three times in just under 450 games.

MATH RULES!
Anyway, I do like these Ideas that are being thrown out. The Jackpot idea would give more of an incentive to go all the way, and bank offers would be even higher should the contestant play a real good game. Also, in most game shows contestants usually do know when to hold ‘em, and when to fold ‘em, so to speak. DOND has all the of these outside influences, affecting the outcome of some of these games this season. I still really like the show, but it would just be better to have contestants play on their own.

I love listening to all of the thoughts of viewers regarding DOND. I am Donato, the American flag jacket wearing contestant from New York. I was fortunate to be a part of the celebration of 100 episodes ‘in the can’. I am surprised to find out that you are all aware that Brooks is the contestant that evening as that I am under a gag order. This game is as random as a slot machine and for all the contestants that gave it their best shot no matter how our games turned out, we were pleased to support Brooks for his second go-around. Only this small group of people can appreciate the pressure of playing this game in a live studio audience. Keep watching and sharing your thoughts. We, the contestants, read everything.

SEE…I KNEW THAT ALL ALONG!
Hey Donato, happy to hear from you. Now you and I speak the same language, we have to be aware that many contestants, do come across the community like this and read what other people feel, the problem is some of them seem to have no regard for others and wouldn’t even take the time to put themselves in certain peoples shoes. And if there’s one thing I hate, it’s angry, closed-minded people. Those that judge based merely on a certain game show performance, are gullible fools!
I look forward to seeing you and the others on May 6th, by for now!

If there was an escalating jackpot added, I’d rather see it go up by $50,000 per game. (Please note, not per show, per game.) Heck, even $25,000 would be fair. At $25,000 added per game, even if there was one game played per episode, the jackpot would be at $3.5M [$1M + (100 * 25K)] at game 100, and surely there have been more than 100 contestants.
I’d also remove $750,000 for good and replace it with $2500. This makes the money ladder not look as top-heavy.

I think everyone covered what I feel the show needs, basically just tone down the circus and have the peanut gallery shut up. However, the producers’ method (as much as I hate it) SOMEHOW works and gets them in the Top 20 every week.
As for the 100 episodes, IIRC, it only took “Millionaire” a few months to do so…they reached 100 by April or May 2000. Don’t remember the exact date, just that I still hadn’t graduated high school, which was June 00.

Of course it wouldn’t be $50,000,000,000. NBC would WOULD be broke. I think no game show will offer $50,000,000,000 in 1,000,000 years. But I hope for the jackpot thing. It should be worth $1,000,000 + $100,000X100 ($11,000,000!) I wish that would happen….

Hello guys,,,,,,
It’s CHERYL JACKSON the official biggest LOSER on Deal or No Deal. I was just surfing the net and saw your site. I am excited that Brook got the opportunity to play DOND again. I have had nightmares from my show and it would be a dream come true for me to go back. I hope that Brook whens BIG and breaks the bank because I hold the title as the lowest offer ever given and the lowest money won and trust me I hear it every day.
Go Brook Go. Break the bank.
Thanks for mentioning my name. I love DOND!
My name is Cheryl Jackson and I am the biggest loser on Deal or No Deal!!!!! FIVE DOLLARS yep and my kids remind me of that everyday as they prepare to go off to college….Man oh man if I could turn back time.
