The only thing that bugs the crap out of me with the new PIR site is the use of Comic Sans for the navigation font. I hate that font. Virtually every other web designer I know hates it, too. It’s probably the most overused and abused font in graphic/web design. There are other fun fonts out there that could’ve been used! *nods*

Anyhoo, for the first time in about seven years, TPIR has been appointment TV for me. (Modelgate had a lot to do with me not watching it.) Drew is doing very well (Bob who? ;)) so far, IMO; and he can only get better. I also love that he’s interacting with everyone more. It’s like he’s a fan’s host of this show.

Last, not referencing Mark Goodson Productions at the end now doesn’t bug me, really; my thought was that the mention would retire with Bob.

Am I the only one who thinks this site is absoutely pathetic? The pricing games info was copied off another’s website, and FremantleMedia does not have respect for loyal game show fans by either giving it the C&D or using other websites without permission.

Here’s something you might want to post about: ratings figures for Drew’s first week. According to E!, the show saw a 10% increase from the same week last year in the 18-49 demographic (from 1 to 1.1 million), and an 8% increase in the 25-54 demographic. The overall number was consistent with last year at about 5.4 million viewers. Of course, since this is only the first week, a lot of people probably tuned in out of either habit or curiosity, so it remains to be seen whether viewers will stick with the show. But I have faith in Drew.

Drew is doing an amazing job on TPIR… I watch it every day on the DVR during my lunch at work. I love how he talks to the people “you walk here huh? Well how about going home in this…”

I love seeing Ten Chances more often now… My favorite game of them all!

I also watched the videos on the TIPR.com site, great place to go online!

Drew has been great for TPiR. He’s just what the show needed. One problem? “This is Rich Fields speaking for The Price Is Right. A FremantleMedia production.” What the heck man? Where’s the referral to Mark Goodson? I guess MGP has been fully dissolved into Fremantle.

In Re: Joe Capitano: I don’t get to watch very often, but in the two playings of Cliffhangers this season, the correct prices have been$20-$30-$40 - the general guessing pattern if you don’t have a clue. If that isn’t making the games easier, I don’t know what is!

Drew’s been improving as the episodes move forward. At this point it’s easy to tell which episodes were taped early on and which ones are more recent.

I’ve seen Drew a few times now (Yay for Fridays off), and I agree that he’s doing a fine job, but it feels like he still needs to work on the timing for the games. When Bob was hosting it never felt like he needed to rush anything, whereas it often feels like Drew is running to keep up with the show and talking fast to make sure everything gets squeezed in. Possibly a by-product of all the fun he’s having. Once that’s all balanced out again, Drew will be a fine host.

As for the website, the descriptions of the pricing games will mention Bob frequently, but not Drew? And the site came out mostly because of the host change? Not smart. But it’s nice to see more content than the old CBS site had.

No offense, but I believe you’re QUITE in the minority there.

Drew is doing fine. Give him another couple of months to get totally comfortable in the environment and with the procedures involved in the games and he’ll be excellent.

And I agree…priceisright.com is very cool. Lots of good information and fun all in one place.
