Colin Mochrie Hosts Canadian “Fifth Grader”

In the week of absolutely no game show news, we finally found some!  Thanks to reader Mark O. who sent us a story from the Winnipeg Sun that one of the funniest people on the planet, Colin Mochrie, will be the host of the five episode Canadian Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? run. “We’re delighted to have Colin on board,” said Barbara Williams, senior vice president of programming and production for CanWest MediaWorks in a statement. “His unrivalled wit and ability to engage and entertain audiences will be front and centre, and we look forward to all of the fun.”  Episodes are being taped in Toronto this Fall and will air on Global.

That means that every single Whose Line is it Anyway? regular has a show.  Drew has Power of 10 (which will probably return in the Fall) and The Price is Right, Wayne has Don’t Forget the Lyrics, and Colin has this.  What’s Ryan been up to recently?  I’d love to see him back on TV somewhere.

..since Canada refers to grades and their numbers in the reverse, the question is, will they call it “Are you smarter than a grade-fiver?” ??

Now, why couldn’t FOX choose him to host the American version instead?

Grrr when I read the title I though Colin was replacing whatever that host we have now is. Good luck Colin.

BTW, I saw Ryan Stiles in one scene of that new show “Rules of Engagement.”

How about we get Ryan to replace that no talent hack Dennis Miller on Grand Slam, I think it would be an interesting combination (not saying that Ryan deserves a GSN original, because he is better than that, but then again Grand Slam is better than almost all, if not all of their originals).

also, don’t forget some other whose line regulars: Greg Proops did Vs. for Comedy Central and Brad Sherwood did at least one show: The Big Moment

Personally, I don’t know if Colin would be a good host, but then again, I was wrong about Howie Mandel and I was wrong about Jeff Foxworthy

I believe he would be good. He hosted a comedy game show for The Comedy Network in Canada called “Supertown Challenge”. Just to take a stab at Colin, every contestant on “AYSTAFG” will have to wear sunglasses with the shine Colin brings everywhere he goes. Get it?

Brad also hosted the first season of “The Dating Game” in the 90s.

Good to see all the regulars are doing a regular gig. Wish him the best.

I was figuring it was either him or Shawn Majunder.

    But Good Call!

Too bad. I’m 3 years too old to be a fifth grader. I woulda ripped it on that show. I assure you, us CanEH?dians won’t be as STUPID as Fox and get GOOD CONTESTANTS!!! Not absolute RETARDS!! No offense.

David, It would be a perfect fit for Colin because he himself is Canadian.
