Changes Coming to Aussie “Deal or No Deal”

If you watch the Australian daytime edition of “Deal or No Deal”, be on the lookout for some changes occuring relatively soon.  According to people who have been part of auditions, they have dropped the quiz portion and will be selected as in the NBC version of the show.  Also, quite interestingly, on the DVD game, they use pictures of the NBC logo and set, and they also use the NBC logo on the Aussie website as well.  In the beginning of the fall episodes of the show, it was said that the show was getting a new logo and updated set, which really did not happen at all.  Could we be seeing one of the few, if not the only, surviving original “Deal or No Deal” games being changed?

I’m honestly now having to try and think how many versions are not like the US version in any way now.

I’ll have to count the UK as it did ‘no questions except one’ before anyone else, and it hasn’t stolen the logo. I don’t think Italy’s version is like the US one at all. The Dutch show… though even they have a 250k daily version with a not-quite-the-US logo…

…I have a bad feeling that players are being selected for telegenic appeal only, and quite possibly with more than one eye on creating another Dean Cartechini…
