Posted by Alex Davis as Family Feud, NBC, Syndication
The stage is set and we’re ready to begin NBC’s Celebrity Family Feud. The set seems to be basically the same thing with a few minor updates, but I have no clear full pictures just yet. I’ll work on getting those. Here’s the list of families that will be competing to win $50,000 each show.
*Bill Engvall’s family VS Larry the Cable Guy’s family
*Vivica A. Fox’s family VS Mo’Nique’s family
*American Chopper family VS Christopher Knight’s family
*Corbin Bernsen’s family VS Margaret Cho’s family
*Ice T’s family VS the Rivers family
*Raven-Symone’s family VS Wayne Newton’s family
*The Kardashians VS Deion Sanders’s family
*Tiki Barber’s family VS Ed McMahon’s family
*The Hickeys VS The Camden County All-Stars, both from My Name is Earl
*The Office VS American Gladiators
*Vincent Pastore’s family VS The Girls Next Door
*Kathie Lee Gifford’s family VS Dog the Bounty Hunter’s family
Well that’s quite a roster, isn’t it? The one that looks the most interesting to me is The Office against American Gladiators; the rest of NBC’s whoring of their reality shows, of all things, doesn’t appeal to me that much. But it looks to be pretty good. Al Roker hosts Celebrity Family Feud starting Tuesday, June 24th, at 8:00PM ET on NBC.
And as a little tip, the syndicated version of Family Feud, hosted by the amazing John O’Hurley, starts taping its next season next Thursday. You can get your tickets here. Hopefully John can stick around for a lot longer, because this version definitely deserves it for all the improvements they’ve made.

Personally, “American Chopper” vs. “American Gladiators” would have been a better matchup. I mean c’mon! First, American vs. American, easy to market. Second, I just would LOVE to hear Paul Sr. say he’s going to give Titan the wrong side of his size 12. Ever see the guy? You KNOW he can take on one of these guys head to head!

Tiki Barber vs. Deion Sanders would’ve been an appropriate matchup–offense powerhouse versus superstar defender. Hopefully Tiki’s brother Ronde, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback, will take part. Tiki and Ronde are one of the best brother combinations ever in sports. If the Kardashians were playing either of the aforementioned teams, it could make for a football matchup, as Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend is New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush.
Dog the Bounty Hunter vs. Ed McMahon is another dream match, funny in my mind after McMahon’s recent foreclosure problems.

The grand prize is too low. Since celebs are involved, it should be at least $100,000.Plus, how much cash will the losing family get for their charity?

captparis $50,000 is not chump change, these days I think it’s the minimum a primetime show can offer celebs. or not. personally i think a $50K prize is fine a larger prize would distract from the game. I’m gonna take an educated guess and say the losing team gets $10,000 or $20,000 and if the winners lose the fast money round they get $100 a point. but I’m jsut taking wild guesses

Well, at least it’s not “Million Dollar Celebrity Family Feud”; that’s a POSITIVE!!

Very good roster! I can’t wait! Also, it doesn’t hurt that NBC is bumping up the debut date by a week. That must mean NBC is eager to air, and the viewing public is VERY eager to see this!
That’s how I see it, anyway.

^Amen to that. Hopefully Celebrity Feud can show the rest of the networks that a primetime game show doesn’t have to have a seven-figure top prize to work. (In all honesty, they don’t.)

I agree with all of those, but here’s one that NBC dropped the ball on:
The original American Gladiators vs. the new American Gladiators
And I agree with Alex, I hope John does stay around a lot longer. It seemed like the show have improved since he became host because it was bland when Richard Karn was hosting it. And $50,000 is a good prize for a celebrity version of a game show, after all, this isn’t Celebrity Millionaire.

Al Roker? Blech. He should stick to the weather, and he shouldn’t even stick to that.

im really curious to see how this turns out. Al Roker is a great personality to have on feud.
Perhaps since this is the first feud to air on network TV since 1992, Fremantle will do this right and give us a good show.
And because this is the nightime show, that must mean updated graphics and new razzle dazzle features too the show.

C’mon, DB25, give him a chance, maybe he’ll do well (maybe not as well as O’Hurley, but well the same). And as for Fremantle doing something right, they finally did IMHO with Million Dollar Password (and that’s not saying much seeing as if I’m not particularly a Fremantle fan).

I agree that Al Roker can get annoying, but look at all the people on this show that should be hilarious. Hosts are just there to facilitate the hilarity, usually they are not that funny (ie Regis). However, with some of these “families” they’ve got lined up, I don’t see how this show cannot be hilarious.

I think the show is a great idea. It starts up tonight and the first pair off will be Ice T vs Joan Rivers, with their respective families. How do you guys feel?
