Weekend Replay: “101 Ways to Leave a Game Show”
Yesterday on BBC One was the debut of Endemol's new game show 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show. An American pilot is being made soon for ABC so we wanted to be sure to keep a close eye on this one. Really, it's a mixed bag. The actual game is OK but wow is it slow. Actually this is one thing that will benefit an American pilot. The British version is a full hour long. The American version will only be around 42 minutes so a lot of the filler will be erased. The show as simple as it sounds. If you get a wrong answer you get ejected from the game. Here's the final round. It's basically Russian Roulette for £10,000. The video is after the break.

This Double Showcase win on The Price is Right was rather unexpected. In a special episode held for the fourth of July we have just the third contestant this season to win both Showcases by coming within $250 of her actual total. Check it out. This weekend will obviously be slow because of the holiday and it's beautiful out so it's more fun to be outside enjoying the weather than in front of a computer. If something urgent comes up we'll post it. If not, have a great holiday

Any time I've posted a video of the hit Australian game show Hot Seat, a pretty good spin off of Millionaire, it's typically a $1,000,000 moment and it's pretty well known it's going to be a loss or it would have been known by someone. Let's try to mix it up. The contestant at the end of this clip faces one question for $50,000. Will the contestant win it, or will they be leaving with $1,000 instead? Check it out after the break. It's an exciting finish.

The first (and hopefully not last) series of The Million Pound Drop came to a close this past weekend in London. It was an interesting series of six episodes that had many ups and downs. It resulted in one winning team, walking out with £75,000. The rest walked out with nothing. No team, though, was more memorable than episode three's Will and Gemma.

Today, The Price is Right had a special Mother's Day edition. It was another of their popular couple's shows, where mothers and the children played together. The show typically puts out their best and most exciting episodes during these specials, and today was no exception. In particular, the game Cover Up was a nail biter.

Anyone watch Saturday Night Live last night? No, I didn't either because I enjoy actual comedy (e.g. Craig Ferguson live in Greesburg, PA), but last night they had a sketch which will amuse many of us. As many are aware Steve Harvey was recently the guest host of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. SNL did a sketch about Steve's run on Millionaire, and not only was it (shockingly) funny but it was pretty spot-on. What do you think? Matches up well? His week on Millionaire really proved to me, more than anything, that he is going to be incredibly good in his Family Feud role. He can do the comedy part well, and if any game show format is set up for Steve, it's Feud. And hey if nothing else at least Millionaire is getting some

“Price is Right” Offers Tesla Electric Convertible Roadster in “Green Road”
On Wednesday we discussed how great the prizes are getting on The Price is Right which was evident by the attempt to give away an unbelievably cool vintage 1964 Bentley in the game Hole in One (which was won). We teased it enough, and yesterday was the day it got even better. It was the special Earth Day episode and they pulled out all the stops. This included offering not only, without a shadow of a doubt, the coolest prize in the history of the show but the most expensive. It was a Tesla electric convertible roadster. Just looking at the car makes your jaw drop. Imagine being the guy playing for it in the clip. Did he win? Take a look below. Regardless if he did or not, that was one of the more exciting moments on the show in a

“Price is Right” Offers Vintage Bentley
Without a doubt some of the coolest, if not the coolest, prizes that The Price is Right has offered since Drew Carey took over are the vintage cars. We got another one offered today, and this may be the most impressive of them all thus far. In the game Hole in One, a vintage 1964 Bentley was offered to a lucky contestant. You can't get much cooler than that on the show. Beyond the excitement for the prize, it was far and away one of the most exciting moments the show has had since the now infamous Double Overbid for a Porsche. Take a look below. Keep up these kind of cool prizes. They are great and get a fantastic reaction. Tomorrow is another cool car day as well for the Earth Day special. Edit: Fixed the name of the car.

Weekend Replay: “The Whole 19 Yards”
A while ago CBS piloted a new primetime game show called The Whole 19 Yards which made people answer trivia questions, but the catch is they had to run an obstacle course to get to their buzzer. We didn't end up airing, but England did. Their version started yesterday, hosted by Family Fortunes (Family Feud) host Vernon Kay. First off, it's got an incredibly nice looking set and presentation, but the actual game is what people care about. Different challenges come up each round, and all leave the buzzer 19 yards away. Just reach it and answer your question before your opponents do to move on and the others have to redo it. The first three to make it move to the next round. Another challenge, another player gone, and a final

A Happy “Divided” Ending
I never expected the previous clip of Divided to get so much attention. It's interesting the way it was split. Some people hated it because of the anger of the contestants. Some people loved it because of that same anger. Well I have something here that may make people feel a little better and a little less filthy. Friday's Divided ended, well, just a little bit differently. I cut out the quiz portions to get to the part that people seem to talk about the most, but the team played fantastic and went all the way up to the final round before stopping. They elected to attempt to split their prize instead of trying to win £75,000 more by risking half their money. Did the team manage to come to a better resolution than Wednesday's

“Divided”: the Most Uncomfortable 100 Seconds in Game Show History
Over in England ITV brought back one of my favorite quiz shows in years: Divided. We went over it extensively when it first came around last year, and the results were as mixed as I figured. I thought it would be because, as even the title could hint, it's a very dividing show based on the sheer nature of it. It's a tough quizzer to start out with that's accentuated with fantastic writing, tense gameplay, and dramatic big money moments. The ending is what divides crowds. The prize money earned is divided into three unequal sections. In 100 seconds, during which each share of the money goes down rapidly, the team must decide who gets what share and if they don't all agree they get nothing. Sometimes it turns out OK. Sometimes it

This Weekend’s Intense Dutch “Deal or No Deal”: What Would You Do?
If you follow us on Twitter or Facebook, you know the Dutch Deal or No Deal hypothetical we gave out. For those who haven't seen when we've shown off their version, called Miljoenenjacht, it's to me the absolute perfect game show. You will have trouble convincing me that there's a better game show out there, let alone a better version of Deal. A 500 person audience is brought to one by some various trivia rounds. That person gets to play the famous briefcase game, treated more like a bonus round and sans Banker, for five million euro. They don't get sappy or emotional. They don't make players feel like crap with prove-outs. It's treated like what it is, a bonus round, and it's just simply the best version of the show. Very few have

The British are Better Than Us: “Pointless” Season Two
One of my newer favorite British game shows, Pointless, finally came back for a second season after what seems like a long break. The show's back with some format changes, and at least to me they are all for the better. For those not familiar with the show from our last time with us, four teams of two compete in what is essentially reverse Family Feud. Before each show 100 people were given 100 seconds to name items in a category The host tells teams to name something in that certain category. In the first round each player on the team has to name something that both fits into the category and is an answer no one else thought of. The less people who said the answer the fewer points the team gets, and the goal is to have the lowest
