“Family Feud” Tapes New Season Starting April 24th

Family Feud is back.  The newest season, the third with popular host Steve Harvey, begins taping very soon and they're staying in Atlanta, at the Atlanta Civic Center, for the second year in a row.  Feud is taping earlier than normal this year to accomodate Steve's new NBCU talk show which will tape in Chicago.  The new season of Family Feud will start taping Monday, April 24th, and looks to have two taping times each weekday and some Saturdays.  The show will tape through the end of June.  This is the first season of the show that will be shot in HD.  I've heard nothing but good things from audience members, so I highly recommend going if you can make it.  Click here to get tickets from OCA and join in the fun.  You'll love it, trust me. Click here to read more, let us know what you think, and to watch a new funny moment the show posted to their YouTube page.

“Wheel of Fortune” Ups the Stakes This Week for “Big Money Week” Thumbnail

“Wheel of Fortune” Ups the Stakes This Week for “Big Money Week”

If you watched Wheel of Fortune yesterday, you may have noticed that it's one of the show's more popular themed weeks: Big Money Week.  Beyond the set decorations, a few things have changed that are giving contestants a chance to win bigger than they normally would.  The biggest changes are happening in the end game.  Wheel has added new dollar amount envelopes to the bonus round week from $65,000 to $85,000.  It's easier than ever for a contestant to reach six figures.  A Lexus convertible has also been added, so someone may be walking (or driving) away very, very wealthy by the end of the week.  The $1,000,000 prize is still up for grabs as well.  Watch all week and see if anyone can do it.  Click here to discuss the week.

Could You Miss the Million Pound Question Twice? Thumbnail

Could You Miss the Million Pound Question Twice?

No fan of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, regardless of the country, will be able to forget Ken Basin's $475,000 loss after giving the wrong Final Answer to his million dollar question.  It's the moment you never really wanted to see, but you still wanted to a little bit.  Did you know it happened in England first, though?  Well, it sort of happened. On a special celebrity Valentine's edition, Laurence and Jackie Llewelyn-Bowen had the rare chance to face a million pound question twice.  The video of the moment has only recently been revealed, finally, and it's a much different reaction than the American miss. Click here to see both moments, including, for the first time ever, the UK big loss, and tell us what you thought.

Mike Rowe Wins $100,000 on “Millionaire”

We've seen a large number of $100,000 wins (and three $250,000 wins) this season on Who Wants to be a Millionaire.  You can add another one to that list.  Earlier this week the host of Discovery's Dirty Jobs, Mike Rowe, walked away with $100,000 for his charity, mikeroweWORKS.  Mike is the newest big celebrity winner, following other six figure winners such as Anthony Anderson, Suzie Essman, and the Hillstrand Brothers from Deadliest Catch.  Mike had some rough luck with the Jumps in round one, but it ended up paying off big time in Classic Millionaire.  Click here to see a video of his big win, and to find out what happened after.

What’s the Best “Family Feud” Answer that Steve Harvey Has Ever Heard? Thumbnail

What’s the Best “Family Feud” Answer that Steve Harvey Has Ever Heard?

Over the course of two seasons, since the tone of Family Feud has changed to more comedic and risque (to great success), Steve Harvey has heard a lot of bizarre answers.  From the nonsensical to the dirty, Steve has nearly heard it all.  So we come to a new family of champions playing Fast Money for $20,000.  A simple question: "Name a job that's dirty, but someone's got to do it."  It's hard to make this one off the wall unless your mind is not there at the moment.  The show isn't leading you into any answers.  Trust me, what the contestant says...not a single other person ever thought to say it.  It certainly threw me off.  Click here to watch the very, very funny moment.

Ratings Report: Only “Family Feud” Grows Thumbnail

Ratings Report: Only “Family Feud” Grows

The newest ratings release is in for syndicated game shows. The continuing power of Family Feud has been proven week in and week out over the course of the last two seasons.  Whenever a show performs a host change, if we see an uptick in ratings we typically wait for the inevitable downfall because curiosity has to wear off eventually.  Feud seems to be the exception to the rule and, unlike nearly anything I've seen before, just keeps getting bigger. The rest of the syndicated shows either stayed level or went down, but it was pretty steady for everyone regardless. Click here to see the numbers of all the shows, plus a new funny clip from Family Feud.
