Feud/Wipeout Ratings

The much anticipated Celebrity Family Feud hosted by Al Roker did pretty well in it's 8pm hour on NBC. Scoring a 2.3/7 rating, or 8.77 million viewers if you don't care to work that out. The show was reached with mixed reviews, but I can see the number going up next week. However, the show that slipped under our radars, Wipeout actually scored #1 for the timeslot on ABC with a 3.7/12 rating, or 9.85 million viewers. Over a million more than Feud. #2 for the night over the networks, only trailing the big hit America's Got Talent. Pretty shocking actually, but I think it deserves it. I just hope it can hold on to the rating. The format may get repetitive, but come on, who would get tired of the crash and burn on the "Big Balls".

“Million Dollar Password” Renewed

All of this is starting to sound a lot like how Power of 10's life cycle went, but let's hope this one works out better.  CBS's hit primetime game show Million Dollar Password has been renewed for six more episodes.  Its ratings have been pretty good for summer but it has seen a slight drop in recent episodes.  CBS really needs to not do what they did to Power of 10 and place it midseason against heavy competition.  I'm enjoying the show more with each new viewing and I'd like to see it stick around.

Site Status: Comments Now Working

Edit: Comments are now working! Feel free to comment and edit away. We'll fix the sidebar next. Welcome to the new BuzzerBlog! We have a few new features we hope you love. First, off, the most noticeable changes are the ones directly above the articles. We write so much that the important stories easily get buried. We figured this was a nice and easy way to make sure you see the stories we feel you should know about. Not only that, above the sidebar is a small video player. You can view our most recent movies there, or you can go to the videos page to go to our archives. Our favorite changes are the speed. We are actually a pretty fast moving site now which is amazing for a change. Commenting should be faster, and not only t

Who Does Barker Want To Host Price?

Bob Barker, who received what are most likely the last two Daytime Emmys of his career last night, is backing none other than Rosie "Rowdy on The View" O'Donnell, who has hosted neither a TPiR Live show or a run-through session at Studio 33.  "There's no doubt in my mind she could do the show," says Barker.  "She told me she loved The Price Is Right and wanted to host it one day."  I'd like to see her at least try, and hear what the fans think about her afterwards.

Game Show Forum Status: “Hardware Issues”

We have a lot of readers who visit the Game Show Forum, and we've received a ton of emails about what's going on with it. From one of the head moderators, David Zinkin, Invision technical support is saying that there is a "hardware issue" with the server, and it's being worked on. They can't promise a definite time. Again, this is coming from Invision technical support, not the moderators of the forum. We'll keep you updated on the status.

RIP Darren McGaven

Not a day after Don Knotts was announced dead, Darren McGaven, who died at the age of 83 of natural causes in Los Angeles. For game show fans (thanks to IMDb, because I wouldn't have a clue normally), he was featured on a ton of game shows, like Family Feud, Celebrity Sweepstakes, TattleTales, It Takes Two, Password, and To Tell The Truth. I would think that GSN will be giving some sort of tribute. For non-game show freaks, Darren McGaven was featured in five TV series, like "Mike Hammer", but is probably most known by a semi-younger crowd for his role as Ralphie's dad in the classic comedy "A Christmas Story". His final role was on the pilot "Night Stalker" in 2005 as, and I'm serious, Reporter Standing At Desk.
