Rumor Control: New Trivial Pursuit Host?

Back in December we reported Mark L. Walberg was set to host Trivial Pursuit: America Plays. While true at the time, it looks like his contract with Fox may have gotten in the way of hosting this syndicated show coming September 22nd. There is a new name floating around. The Brady Bunch's Christopher Knight (Peter Brady) may be your new host. He's been in the spotlight lately after marrying model Adrienne Curry, with whom he was a contestant with on The Surreal Life. They currently have a reality show together on MTV called My Fair Brady. Anyways, enough Brady Bunch history for one post. I personally believe it, cause why actually have a game show hosted by a game show host. That's ridiculous these days, huh? Although I can see Knight doing

“Trivial Pursuit” in Florida

Sorry for recent slowness.  We're busy as always.  However, coming up next week is something exciting for people in Tampa or Orlando, Florida.  The new syndicated quiz show, Trivial Pursuit will be in your area.  Write about four questions in broad subjects (don't get too obscure or nerdy; you won't be chosen then most likely), go down to one of the three casting locations, get taped reading them, and you're set!  You could earn thousands of dollars if some of your questions are read.  I see no reason not to participate if it means a potential of money with no obligations. First, on Thursday, July 10th, and Friday, July 11th, the show and its crew will be in Orlando, Florida waiting for your questions.  On Thursday you can see them at th

National Question Tour for “Trivial Pursuit”

A representative from the new syndicated game show Trivial Pursuit: America Plays left a comment on our site (which I can verify of course) about a national "Question Tour" to get questions and teams for the new show. In Trivial Pursuit, all questions are submitted by home viewers and if "America's Team" wins the game, the home players may win hundreds of dollars. The only thing to be aware of is that the tour is starting really soon, so you might want to get ready as soon as possible. New Syndication Debut Dates Thumbnail

New Syndication Debut Dates

The new syndicated season is really sneaking up on us and for the second year in a row, we have two new shows coming in addition to a whole load of returning ones. Here's the list so far. *Deal or No Deal: September 8th *Who Wants to be a Millionaire?: September 8th *Jeopardy!: September 8th *Wheel of Fortune: September 8th *Crosswords: September 8th *Trivial Pursuit: September 22nd The only one missing, as it seems to be every single year, is Family Feud but it'll end up debuting some where in that range. Rest assured that it was renewed and it would be hard not to be with its ratings increase this year. Trivial Pursuit is being pushed by a big marketing campaign from Hasbro, and they are asking Denbar-Mercury to put some act

“Trivial Pursuit” Pitch Video

Sorry for the slow and late updates during the week. If you're in college like me, it's midterm probably, so I'm exceptionally busy. But we have time for a nice little video for you. Reader Chris R. sent us this YouTube video of the Trivial Pursuit pitch tape. You get what's essentially the game as of now: pretty decent gameplay, stereotypical modern but nice looking set, nice money which is bound to be drastically lowered when the show gets to air, and we have Mark Walberg hosting so we get a big thumbs up. Take a look and tell you what you think. Apparently they aren't allowing embedding, so here you go.

“Trivial Pursuit” Clears 55% of Country

Update: Mediaweek is calling it a firm go.  Welcome to the team, Trivial Pursuit.  You can't be much worse than Temptation, so we have faith in you. This didn't take long, did it? Denbar-Mercury has already cleared 55% of the country, including eight of the top ten markets, to air in the Fall 2008 season. The pilot, hosted by fan favorite Mark L. Walberg, saw contestants answer questions sent in from home viewers. Some markets, courtesy of Broadcasting and Cable, are: Fox affiliates in New York; Los Angeles; Chicago; Washington, D.C.; and Baltimore on board. Stations from Cox Broadcasting, CBS, Belo, Gannett, Scripps, Raycom Media and Weigel Broadcasting are also signed up. The show will be taken to NATPE this year where it will
