The adult exam takes place from January 17th through January 19th. To try for the exam, you must register at Jeopardy!‘s website and sign up for your time zone. The Eastern Time Zone exam is January 17th, the Central/Mountain Time Zone exam is January 18th, and the Pacific Time Zone exam is January 19th. Each is at 8:00PM in your respective zone. You are allowed to take the exam in another zone if there are scheduling conflicts, so don’t worry. The test consists of 50 questions. You’ll have 15 seconds to answer each.

The “College Championship” test is open to college students on February 7th. Register by clicking here. The “Teen Tournament” exam is on January 31st. Click here for that.

For those that have taken the exams, do you have any tips for those about to?

Channel 4 is launching their newest multi-platform game show The Bank Job in January. In this unique show, you can be in the bank vault trying to win hundreds of thousands of pounds by just playing the online game. Channel 4 launched The Bank Job‘s online game today. You play against another opponent live in a head-to-head quiz competition. Win two games and you get to become an elite player, you have a chance to win £10,000, and you have a chance to appear on the actual TV show live this January to play for real cash. You can start this opportunity today by playing in one of several multi-hour tournaments.

This weekend, twice a day for two hours at a time, log on to the Channel 4 The Bank Job website and play the game. Click here to play the game. To qualify for the chance to be on television you need to play during the designated times, but you can play the game at any time for fun. If you win two games you get a chance to appear on the show where you’ll be in the show’s vault live this January playing for life changing money. Here are the tournament times to qualify for the TV show. The first chance is today and very soon so get set.

Friday (TODAY, December 2nd) : 3pm – 5pm
Friday (TODAY, December 2nd) : 7.30pm – 9.30pm
Saturday (December 3rd) : 12noon – 2pm
Saturday (December 3rd) : 4pm – 6pm
Sunday (December 3rd) : 12noon – 2pm
Sunday (December 3rd) : 4pm – 6pm

I’ve played the game. It’s easy to learn, very tense, and very fun. Each player has a clock of 45 seconds. On the board are 25 safes. Some are filled with cash (£200,000 total), some have £0, and some have a STEAL. When you get a question your clock starts ticking down. Answer right and your clock stops and you get to pick a safe and take what’s inside. Pick a STEAL and you take your opponent’s largest cash bundle. If you miss a question the clock ticks down until you answer right. If you run out of time you are locked in and out of the game. You can leave the vault after any right answer to protect your cash, but the player that leaves with the most cash wins.

The TV version works largely the same, just with four players each night. The champion leaves with the vault with the money in their briefcase and returns on night six. All five champion’s bank amounts are pooled together and the champion will leave with the whole thing. Up to £1,000,000 can be won. Given how the online game went I’d guess you’ll be seeing a win of over £200,000. It’s just about guaranteed that someone is leaving with huge money regardless.

The online game completely sold me. I enjoyed it a lot and it was even stressful just watching my opponent play. We’ll have more information on the show close to debut, but for now enjoy playing the game and let us know what you think.

Good morning, everyone. Here are your morning updates for Tuesday, October 18th, 2011.

*SPEED’s newest game show, Pumped, has a debut date. We discussed it a bit before but the general idea of the show is that the host, Greg Fitzsimmons, travels to gas stations quizzing people to win up to $1,800. It’s honestly Cash Cab but in a gas station. Pumped will debut November 17th at 9:00PM ET. We’ll see how this one goes.

*Discovery is casting for a new game show. The show, hosted by Mythbusters‘ Jamie and Adam, sees teams of five compete to create various Rube Goldberg contraptions, like the board game Mousetrap. If you like Saw it’s like that, just without all the blood. Winning teams collect $3,000. If you want to get involved and possibly play, click here.

*HBO is developing a dark comedy based on the genre. W. Merritt Johnson is writing a script aimed to star actor Don Johnson which is about a suicidal game show host. The series will follow his life, trying to cope with what it’s become, and trying to deal with his life at home at work.

*ITV’s The Chase had a funny moment that’s been making the rounds over the last few hours. Take a look below.

*We’ve managed to scrape up some information regarding ABC and ITV’s newest quiz show The Exit List from Embassy Row. When it was taken to press it was said the show involves a maze. A maze may be a little bit of a stretch. It’s more of a grid. It’s not a bad idea, but it needs some work for it to be remotely interesting. I can’t wait to see the changes they make. Basically there are forty-some rooms in a grid. You go to a room and answer a multiple choice question to win the cash in it ($1,000 to $250,000). When you’ve banked all you want one of your team stays inside the grid and has to rattle off a list of all the right answers you’ve given so far. It’s not bad but it doesn’t seem hard, the logistics of the various cash in the room creates a giant problem, and there’s no real logical winning point for the game. It’s just going until you’re happy. If you’re happy winning five figures and you just need to memorize 4 or 5 answers, it’s the some of easiest cash you’ve ever made. I look forward to seeing what changes were made from the pitch film to the pilot.

*Internet game shows have been plentiful recently. Another one has started. This one is called Money Break and the game is simple: just answer a few questions against a clock to win cash prizes. They’re offering $2,000 collectively through each episode so you can pick up some nice cash. Click here to play weekdays at 1:00PM ET. Don’t forget that we will begin looking for contestants for our newest original game show, War of the Words, soon.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire may be in its tenth year in syndication, but they are still taking inspiration from stunts and events done in the past to bring some big thrills and money to contestants and viewers every day. They’re bringing back a stunt not done for the last several years: Walk In and Win episodes. These episodes select unsuspecting members of the studio audience to play the game. They don’t get the luxury of taking the test or having weeks of preparation. They walk in to the studio, talk to producers, and will get called down to play for $1,000,000 without warning. They are taping soon and if you’re an American hero, you are eligible to be in the studio and play. Click here to learn how this can be you.

Millionaire‘s “Walk in and Win” episodes will celebrate American heroes this time. They will be featuring firemen, members of the military, and teachers. If you are one, it’s very easy to play. The show will tape on October 18th. Show up to the studio with the proper documents. You’ll talk to a producer briefly. Then you’ll sit in the audience and hope your number is called. If it is you’ll stand center stage with Meredith Vieira playing for the $1,000,000 top prize. Teachers always do well in the game. The last person to beat the game was a teacher, so if you can make it to New York City on October 18th, I fully recommend going. This is the chance of a lifetime. Click here to visit the show’s page to find out how to get to the studio, how to play this special edition, and how to win.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for sticking with us yesterday during the lack of updates. It’s incredibly busy around here and there wasn’t anything giant. However, we’ve got a few small stories this morning to kick off your Wednesday.

*Millionaire fans: be sure to check out host Meredith Vieira on Live with Regis and Kelly this morning (typically 9:00AM ET). Check your local listings. She’s there to promote the 10th season of the quiz show currently airing in syndication. From the clip I saw Regis had a funny reaction to the new format last year. Let’s see what happens this time.

*Speaking of Millionaire, the crew has restarted their “Backstage Pass” feature, showing fans videos of highlights or rare behind the scenes look at the show. The first of the season is a look at highlights from the 9th season. Check it out.

*Let’s Make A Deal has been updating a producer’s blog recently which seems to have been hidden until a tweet went out yesterday. Little details are being let out, including details on bigger cash and prizes. The most interesting thing to me? Let’s Make A Deal celebrates its 500th episode this season in 2012. Congratulations to them.

*Channel 4′s Deal or No Deal is going live. For two weeks at a date announced soon the Noel Edmonds hosted show will pick its contestants live and it could be you, if you’re in the United Kingdom. You won’t know you’ll be playing until you’re in the game. Sounds like a cool gimmick. We’ll give you more details when they’re out.

*MTV debuted a new game show this week called The Substitute. It airs daily at 4:30PM ET. It’s another surprise on-location game show where unsuspecting students find out their substitute teacher is actually a game show host and they’ll be playing challenges to win up to $5,000.

*No confirmed word what this is yet, but a new family game show is casting for contestants. They need a family of both parents and kids aged 8-16 who live in Los Angeles. You can win up to $10,000 so it’s looking like it’s for a cable network. If this fits your bill click here to check out the casting notice.

Sorry for the short notice on this. This was sudden. Let’s Make A Deal, the popular CBS daytime game show, is starting a national casting search. Its sister show The Price is Right has been doing this for some time. It’s a nice promotion for the show and it can greatly benefit some of you. Casting calls start this weekend in my home city of Pittsburgh, PA. There are other later dates around the country.

Here’s the list.

Saturday, August 27: Pittsburgh; Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival from 12:00PM ET to 5:00PM ET
112 Renaissance Lane West Newton, PA 15089

Saturday, September 17: Minneapolis; Minnesota Renaissance Faire from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
169 & Highway 41 Shakopee, MN 55379

Friday, September 23: Detroit; Michigan Renaissance Festival from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Saturday, October 1: Dallas: Bankston Honda at times TBD
601 Waters Ridge Lewisville, TX 75057

Two people from each location will be sent to Los Angeles to see the show. While that prize is nice enough one of the people will be called on to make a deal with host Wayne Brady, and that could lead to thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, or even a car. Visit the show’s website for more information. Good luck. If you go let them know BuzzerBlog sent you.

Good morning. Slow Wednesday so far, but there are a few smaller notes of interest. Updates this morning include a sudden injury for Drew Carey, a possible tape date and casting information for the pilot of the revived former Fox game show The Moment of Truth, casting information for Speed's upcoming stunt game show Whipped, a surprise scheduling change on GSN for fans of game shows from the 70's, 80's, and 90's; and GSN's plans for upcoming interactive daytime programming. Click here for the full story on each item and let us know what you think.

Good morning. Slow Wednesday so far, but there are a few smaller notes of interest.

*If you follow Drew Carey on Twitter, you probably heard the news. Drew separated his clavicle running yesterday morning. Looks like there’s no massive injury, though, and he’ll be back to taping today. That must have been one hell of a fall. Glad he’s doing well, though.

*We can’t be 100% certain because they aren’t outright saying, but it’s looking like The Moment of Truth‘s revival pilot is taping soon. As we exclusively announced the show has been picked up for a revival, and our sources are telling us it’s for syndication through CBS Television Distribution. Mark Walberg, host of the Fox version, has not been asked to return as of our last check which was some time ago. The casting notices can be found here. It’s looking for contestants for a lie detector show. Not many of those exist beyond The Moment of Truth. We’ll see wat happens.

*Speaking of casting, Speed’s new stunt game show Whipped is looking for contestants. You have to take your own car through dangerous obstacle courses for the shot at winning $25,000. No matter what all people win something. The show will be in Los Angeles. Click here to apply if this interests you.

*Our PDF schedules for GSN at the bottom of the page reveal something interesting. Seemingly out of no where GSN is bringing back its “Play It Back” decades specials next weekend. The specials, hosted by Caroline Rhea, showcase different game shows from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. For a network that’s doing just about all they can to shove anything pre-1990 to extremely early or late hours, this is shocking. We’ll see what comes of this. I really don’t expect much, but wouldn’t it be nice to see them say, “Hey, people seem to enjoy these older shows?” I’m not a big fan of them, but there’s clearly a fan base. Hey, older stuff is working for TeenNick.

*GSN is also debuting some small interactive features between commercials called GSN Snap, acting as the replacement for GSN Live. We’ll have more information on it when and if we get a press release for it.

Good morning, everyone. We've been pretty busy around here recently, and couple that with lack of any remotely interesting news to make a pretty slow day or so. However, over the past day and a half, a few interesting stories. Not that much is going on in America right now, but collectively over the world we've found some interesting stories. Stories this morning include the return of a classic game show to GSN's weekend schedule, casting notices for a new New York-based quiz show and a Sky show in the UK, taping information for ITV's upcoming live Millionaire celebrity special, and a new version of The Cube is coming. Read about all the stories here.

Good morning, everyone. We’ve been pretty busy around here recently, and couple that with lack of any remotely interesting news to make a pretty slow day or so. However, over the past day and a half, a few interesting stories. Not that much is going on in America right now, but collectively over the world we’ve found some interesting stories.

*GSN looks like they’re throwing a bone to game show fans who want to see something different on the schedule. Jeopardy! is being added to the schedule starting this weekend at 9:00AM ET. No word on the years you can expect to see, though it will obviously be hosted by Alex Trebek, but I’d imagine it would be a remotely recent season. It’s sister show, Wheel of Fortune, still isn’t on the schedule again but we’ll see if that changes. It’s always been popular for them. We’ll have more complete info when schedules come in.

*We previously discussed ITV’s upcoming Who Wants to be a Millionaire? live “Soap Stars” special. Their live celebrity editions have been doing well so it makes sense for them to continue them. The specials typically have three couples playing the game and splitting money between charity and a viewer prize pot which is won at the end of the show. Though the show uses a clock now, like America used to, typically you got an incredibly rushed game and a forced walk-away mid game because time ran out, due to other couples taking too long. Did they just find a fix? Audience listings on LostInTV is showing two live dates, on August 20th and 21st. Given that the hook of these shows is that it airs live, it’s safe to assume that they’ll have two shows over the course of a weekend.

*A few game shows of note are starting to cast. Not in Los Angeles, either. We’ll start in America. A new New York based quiz show for a major television network is looking for contestants. The notice is incredibly vague and doesn’t offer a slight clue as to what it could be, for who, or for what network, so you’re going in blind. However, it’s a game show and you know what you’re signing up for. If you’re in the New York area, why not? Click here for that.

Also, Sky in the United Kingdom is casting for a new game/talent show called Don’t Stop Me Now. In short, the show seems like 101 Ways to Leave a Talent Show. In full, various acts perform different tasks on stage. They’ll have 100 seconds to impress people. Make it through and you could be the winner of £25,000 that night. If you don’t you’re ejected from the game in various ways such as trap doors, bungee cords, or anything like that. I’m not knocking it but it seems like the new M.O. for selling shows these days is taking abused formats and ideas which are sucked dry and adding a trap door to them. Anyway, if you’re in the United Kingdom and want involved, click here.

*Another country is getting an adaptation of the popular British game show The Cube. The Ukraine is getting its own version and it’s got a host you may know. Dancing With the Stars dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy will be hosting Куб version of the show.

Good morning. Sorry about the lack of updates yesterday. I was gone for a majority of the day and didn’t get a chance to check anything. However, we’ve got a few things of interest to tell you about to start off the day.

*The pilot for Secret Fortune, CBS’s adaptation of the hit BBC One primetime lottery quiz show, recently taped. We’re looking to find any information about the pilot we can. However, a blog post was linked in a previous comment section regarding a couple going through run throughs with host Donny Osmond. According to the couple, the prizes will range from $100 to $1,000,000. The original British version ranges from £100 to £100,000. Hopefully we can see this one get to air. It’s a good quiz show with an element of luck.

*The most recent live celebrity edition of ITV’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, carrying a “School’s Out” theme, did very well for the network. In response they have rushed another live celebrity edition to air. A “Soap Star Special” will air live this August. The live editions see celebrities play the game for charity. Half the money they win goes to charity and half goes into a prize pot, and at the end of the show one viewer is called up to answer a question to win it all. The last home viewer won £65,000.

*BBC America has green lit its first original game show. British talk show host Graham Norton has been selected to host Would You Rather?. The comedic game show will tape in New York City and will feature top American comedians competing. 13 episodes will be shot.

*More Millionaire tape dates have been announced. Click here to get tickets. They let you do electronic tickets now so that’s a lot easier.

Good Friday morning. The past few days have consisted of practically nothing of any use, so apologies for the lack of updates. We managed to find a few remotely interesting things. As we approach the Fall 2011 season, we'll have more interesting things to write about. Updates this morning include a foreign host of The Price is Right visiting the set and guest hosting a segment on an upcoming episode, a special salute episode of Price taping soon, and a funny and interesting clip from BBC's Pointless. Click here for all the updates.

Good Friday morning. The past few days have consisted of practically nothing of any use, so apologies for the lack of updates. We managed to find a few remotely interesting things. As we approach the Fall 2011 season, we’ll have more interesting things to write about.

*There are a few notes of interest regarding The Price is Right today. We’ll start with the more interesting one. The Price is Right has been a success all around the world, not just in America. For instance, an Australian version has aired off and on from 1981 to 2005. The most recent host was Larry Emdur. The current version on CBS, hosted by Drew Carey, has invited Larry to appear on the show and guest host a segment. Larry said, “It totally blew me out of the water and the producers couldn’t believe it either when Drew suggested it. It was just like riding a bike – it all came flooding back to me.” No word on when the episode will air yet but we’ll let you know.

*Speaking of special editions of The Price is Right, a one time episode celebrating teachers will be taping soon. This special episode tapes on Tuesday, August 9th. Are you in, near, or plan on visiting Los Angeles and a teacher? Click here to get tickets to the show.

*Veteran game show set designer Ed Flesh recently died at the age of 79 due to congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Shows Ed did work for include Wheel of Fortune, The $25,000 Pyramid, Jeopardy!, Name That Tune, and many others. Click here for a longer article courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter.

*The British game show Pointless, now airing on BBC One, had a historic moment yesterday. Take a look below. Thanks to Rob H. for the link on our Facebook page.
