“Bingo America” Checks Start to Arrive
Good news on the Bingo America front: the at-home contest is truly legit. I just got my $50 check in the mail today (I won on the premiere episode, 3/31. If only I won the next day...). If you won, too, it's time to start looking for an envelope labeled "Promotional Consideration."

Edit: The video has sound now! GSN can now proudly say they gave away more money to a contestant on their Bingo America than ABC did on National Bingo Night. Last Friday night, contestant John Stefan took home the main game bank of $1,447 and was the first contestant to match two $100,000 spaces to take home the grand prize on GSN's popular interactive game show. It's honestly refreshing to see. There hasn't been this much excitement on GSN in a while, probably since Grand Slam, another risky big money show. OK, we promise Bingo America is a hell of a lot better than How Much is Enough? which I still feel bad about for my horrendous review based on just one episode. We have a lot more faith that most of you should enjoy Bingo America in some shape or form that we'll be posting some videos and pictures each day leading up to the debut on Monday, March 31st, at 7:00PM ET on GSN. Here's today's video. [youtube jM92BXr0HKU]

As I recently said, I really mis-reviewed How Much is Enough? and I do apologize and hope you'll still believe me for some of my reviews. Because of that last horrible judgement on my part, I was a tiny bit afraid of Bingo America. It had three check marks which made me afraid. One, again, my wrong opinion of How Much is Enough?. Two, it's well documented that I truly think National Bingo Night is the worst game show in ages. Three, I really find bingo to be boring and stale to begin with. Luckily the producers of ABC's primetime screw up retooled their show from the dreck that it was and created a fast paced fun little quiz show that is almost a full package. The game is really really simple. $500 is put into the game's jackpot a

We finally have a brief look into the rules of GSN's new original game show, Bingo America. This was taken from GSN's press page and from an audience member who wished to remain anonymous. It looks to be entirely different than ABC's National Bingo Night which is a good thing. We have a legitimate game now. Mix that with the huge bingo hopper and I'm all smiles. Essentially, a ball comes out and at-home players mark it off their cards. In-studio players answer a question. If they are right, the ball's dollar value is placed into the round's bank and the player is given the letter on the ball. First to spell B-I-N-G-O wins the round. First player to win two rounds wins the game, the bank, and plays the Bingo Bonus Board for $100,00

Here's another one of BuzzerBlog's first looks at a new game show. This time we go to GSN's new show: Bingo America. Somehow, nothing is known of the rules so far. All I know is that people apparently earn letters by answering questions and it seems like if you spell BINGO, you win a bank. The winner at the end plays the Bonus Board where you apparently can win $100,000. This is GSN's first show to regularly offer a six figure sum since Russian Roulette, and it's very appreciated that some money is being put into a show. Bingo America debuts on March 31st at 7:00PM ET on GSN. And yes, the gigantic bingo hopper from ABC survives.

GSN's bouncing into interactive television again big time with Bingo America, which is essentially a 40-episode retooling of ABC's National Bingo Night. The new version, which involves players "earning" letters by answering questions, will debut on March 31st at 7:00PM ET every weekday, and repeating on weekends at 4:30PM ET. Obviously money will be given away to people in the studio. However, as was ABC's version, people at home can win cash, too. At-home players can download up to ten cards a day on GSN's Bingo America website. People will also be able to play along with the bonus game. No more details are known yet, but they are taping extremely soon so we'll be sure to find out. I believe we have a few contestants on this site,
