New Season, New “1 VS 100″ Rules

Congratulations, NBC.  You have officially screwed 1 VS 100, which was at one point a fantastic show.  You’ve now made it into Who Wants to be a Millionaire + 100 Other People Who Wants to Answer Questions As Well.  A Mob member has informed us of some of the rule changes.  Gone is the idea [...]

Let’s start with Deal or No Deal’s schedule change. You know NBC couldn’t resist putting the show on twice a week, didn’t you? Deal or No Deal will be seen on Mondays at 9PM ET starting on January 7, 2008. It follows American Gladiators. Deal will still be seen on Wednesdays [...]

Episodes of shows are really winding down because of the writer’s strike, but NBC has an answer at least people on this site might like: more game shows! Two in particular will make people excited: 1 VS 100 and American Gladiators.
We originally stated 1 VS 100 is returning on January 11th. They apparently [...]

Deal or No Deal is going gimmick crazy during the week of December 10th with some extra long episodes.  But there is a positive note: most of the actual gimmicks are cool and welcome at a later time.  One of them is “The Deal Wheel” which we discussed before.  That is on December 12th.  Here [...]

Good news and bad news about Deal or No Deal on December 12th.  Let’s start with the bad news.
Bad News: Deal or No Deal is adding a new gimmick.
Good News: It’s actually good, at least I think!
Starting on December 12th, NBC’s Deal or No Deal is adding “The Deal Wheel”, which you can see in [...]

There are moments on this site where I question if I should even tell you about some news or if I should let you be happy and unaware. There’s no huge news yet today, so I get to torture you! There are many things NBC could do to make Deal or No Deal [...]

As much hell as I give Dancing With the Stars (and believe me it deserves to be given hell), it does seem like a decent place for D-list celebrities to go and revive their career. With Hulk Hogan as the lead host of NBC’s American Gladiators, it was announced that Laila Ali will be [...]

Two quick news items and then an explanation for the lack of updates recently.
*Following some rather crappy ratings recently, Singing Bee will be shelved in November and replaced by a two hour Biggest Loser. That coincidentally makes The Singing Bee the biggest loser, go figure. It’s getting nearly lower than Identity level ratings [...]

Are you still excited for NBC’s revival of American Gladiators? I know I am. They have a ticket website where you can obviously order tickets to see the new series. It’s taping in late November to mid December in the LA area. Looks like it should be a lot of fun, [...]

Has anyone else been extremely disappointed with this year’s syndicated offerings? They are both severely lacking, especially Temptation, and if we see any last a season, let alone past January, I’ll be amazed. Luckily next season we might have a very interesting syndication front. Three popular game shows are being worked out [...]

I went to a message board a bit ago and stumbled upon this.  In short, some poor lady only won $50,000 after having horrible luck, and she was informed that they would not air her show because it wasn’t exciting or good enough to kick off a new season with.  This is probably the most [...]

NBC has put the kibosh on the primetime preview of Merv Griffin’s Crosswords, previously scheduled for Saturday, September 8.  Instead, NBC will air an installment of Most Outrageous Moments at 8 PM Eastern and the NBC Fall Preview Special at 8:30 PM Eastern.

MAJOR EDIT: NBC put out a press release a bit ago for it. Some classic events like Joust, Hang Tough, The Wall, and the Eliminator will survive. They will be utilizing water skis, special effects, and the latest technology to update your favorite games and some new ones. The new Gladiators will be action and [...]

With a new season of NBC’s Deal or No Deal comes a few set changes, as with most shows on television.  Interestingly, this season isn’t that much.  We mainly have a few lighting changes, including some white light on the model’s stairs, new colors for their stairs, and new neon lighting below the Banker’s booth.  [...]

TheFutonCritic.com reports that NBC will preview Merv Griffin’s Crosswords at 8:30 PM Eastern/7:30 PM Central on Saturday, September 8, following the network’s fall preview special. This makes the second primetime game show preview of that week, following Temptation’s back-to-back episode preview on MyNetworkTV on Wednesday, September 5.
I’ve heard at least one market has no [...]
