NBC's upcoming revival of Fear Factor has a debut date. The new series will start on Monday, December 12th, with a two hour premiere. The show tests people's abilities to cope with their fears in physical, mental, and emotional challenges. The eventual champion will win $50,000. Producers are promising all new modern stunt technology, a new HD look for the show, and bigger and better challenges. Joe Rogan returns as host. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, NBC alternative chief Paul Telegdy said, “The fans of the original show are not going to be disappointed and Rogan is exactly the same — it’s classic, it looks amazing. I had forgotten why this show has the best title in TV — fear is a primal instinct that you rarely see engaged on television.” Are you looking forward to seeing it again?

There hasn't been many big money game shows on ITV throughout 2011. Red or Black made the network nearly bankrupt in September and The Cube returned for a third series in the spring. Apart from that, there hasn't been anything else for the member of the public to win life changing amounts. High Stakes is the latest one to join that group. It was reported earlier this year that the show was piloted for ITV and NBC in America. Although there was no sign of the show airing on US shores. ITV decided to comission an eight episode series. The original plan was to air the show on Saturday evenings as the lead in to The X Factor but a decision was made to air the show on Tuesday evenings at 8pm (formally used by Who Wants to be a Millionaire? be

As we reported months ago, our sources are telling us that NBC looks to have shelved their new quiz show Who's Still Standing? indefinitely. The show is a rapid fire quizzer where answering incorrect drops you through a hole in the floor. It's based on an Israeli format, and beyond changing how the contestants are presented the show was largely the same as the original. A few months ago NBC dumped all information regarding the show from its website, its press site, and its electronic press kit site, which is pretty ominous. Despite being taped and ready to go, it looks like we won't see it. Granted the situation with Million Dollar Mind Game should make you ready for anything, but it doesn't look good. The Spanish version is going well, though. They just had someone play for the 200,000 euro top prize, having beaten 9 of the 10 contestants up to that point. Can he win? Click here to check it out.

This past week ITV2 debuted their version of Minute to Win It, NBC's now-cancelled stunt show. Our version had an interesting history. It started as a Millionaire clone in look and feel. Then after the first few episodes it developed its own voice and actually became enjoyable. And then something happened and the show went off the deep end this year (much like Deal or No Deal did towards the end of its run), and now it's gone. ITV2 manages to fix a lot of the issues by ditching nearly everything from the original product and making it its own unique show. It ends up benefitting greatly because of it. Click here to read about the new format and see some clips.

Last night saw the debut of NBC's newest game show endeavor It's Worth What?. The show asks contestants to try to assess the value of antiques or rare collectacbles to win up to $1,000,000. We'll have more of a review of the full episode soon, but first let's get to the ratings. Depending on if people liked the show and will stick around next week, the debut of the Cedric the Entertainer-hosted game show wasn't bad. The show opened with 6.71 million viewers. Another new game show is entering the Summer primetime schedule tonight. NBC will debut its newest effort, It's Worth What?, tonight at 8:00PM ET. The show has had a long history dating back to GSN when it was under a more flea market-like format. The current show is more like The Price is Right with antiques. A couple attempts to build a bank by gauging which antiques or collectables are worth more than others. The couple can win up to $1,000,000 throughout the show. We're sitting, somewhat patiently, waiting for NBC to open up more on their upcoming quiz show Who's Still Standing?. It's a fast paced trivia showdown where one player faces off against ten. One by one the single player, dubbed the Hero, and a challenger go head to head trying to answer questions against a 30 second clock. The first person to run out of time loses and drops through a hole in the floor. If the Hero can beat all ten people, the Hero wins $1,000,000. However, trust me, it's not easy. While we're waiting for our version, Spain's Antena 3 recently began their own adaptation of the Israeli show. I was weary of the show due to the subdued nature of the original version is Israel. After seeing the Spanish version, I'm much more optimistic. To be perfectly honest, this looks like a really fun and good show. Click here to see clips and big moments from the new Spanish version.

NBC's re-entering the game show world with their new show It's Worth What?, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer. The new show that asks contestants to try to price items and gauge which one costs more than others debuts Tuesday, July 19th, at 8:00PM ET. As I've said recently, I think I accidentally misjudged It's Worth What?. Solely on the basis of the description they gave us to sell you the show it sounded like nothing more than Million Dollar Antiques Roadshow. Seeing some previews the show looks much more than that. I hope you're all having a good holiday weekend so far. We're on auto pilot here for the next few days while we're all away, but we still want to show you some cool stuff. One thing is previews of NBC's upcoming game show It's Worth What?, which I judged unfairly given the promos. At first, by the description the network sent out, it sounded like Million Dollar Antiques Roadshow. Seeing the previews, the show actually looks fun. It looks funny, tricky, the set is incredibly cool (possibly one of the coolest I've seen in a while), and anyone can play along. I'm looking forward to this a bit more now after seeing these. What do you think? Click here to see the previews.

The search for the final piece of the Fear Factor revival puzzle has been found, and we're back to where we started. Original host, comedian and actor Joe Rogan, will host the updated version of NBC's popular game show. Joe hosted the show from 2001 to 2006. The revival was officially announced in June. An eight episode series will air later this season. Rogan told TV Guide, "It doesn't seem real. It seems like some sort of bizarro dream world. But I'm looking forward to it. The idea of sitting at home and watching someone else host it would have driven me crazy." Executive producer Matt Kunitz says the new series could be ready as early as September.
