Weekend Replay: ITV2′s “Minute to Win It”

This past week ITV2 debuted their version of Minute to Win It, NBC's now-cancelled stunt show.  Our version had an interesting history.  It started as a Millionaire clone in look and feel.  Then after the first few episodes it developed its own voice and actually became enjoyable.  And then something happened and the show went off the deep end this year (much like Deal or No Deal did towards the end of its run), and now it's gone.  ITV2 manages to fix a lot of the issues by ditching nearly everything from the original product and making it its own unique show.  It ends up benefitting greatly because of it.  Click here to read about the new format and see some clips.

“Minute to Win It” Not Returning Fall 2011 Thumbnail

“Minute to Win It” Not Returning Fall 2011

In our recent Facebook question, we asked readers if they believe NBC's struggling Minute to Win It would return for another season.  A majority of people believed it would.  I've got bad, but expected, news.  NBC released their Fall 2012 schedule and Minute to Win It is absent.  The show will finish up its run this summer and it looks to be cancelled after that.  There's still no definitive word on when NFL football will return and that will leave a massive gap on NBC's schedule, and survived with its meager ratings because of its affordability, so you can't necessarily count it out.  However, it's not looking good.  Click here to read more.

ITV2 Lands Revamped “Minute to Win It”

The future of the American version of Minute to Win It is in limbo, but its international presence is still known.  ITV2 has announced it is casting for their own version of NBC's cult stunt show.  It becomes confusing when you remember that ITV airs The Cube, which Minute to Win It takes from directly just without literally everything that makes The Cube great.  ITV2 is doing the smart thing and revamping the show for its own version.  Click here to learn more about ITV2's new adaptation.

German Weekend Replay: The Perfect Minute Thumbnail

German Weekend Replay: The Perfect Minute

This weekend we have for you one of the first European countries to import NBC's Minute to Win It. In 2010, German network Sat 1 picked up the rights to produce their own version and called it Die perfekte Minute (The Perfect Minute). The format is exactly the same as the US version, up to ten games and three lives are played with various household objects. The top prize is a nice €250,000. Due to the show being popular in 2010, it returned in 2011 with a longer series, introducing a second safe haven for completing level eight €100,000, introducing pairs/couples and having new games that have been invented for their show and have yet to be shown on the NBC version. Unlike the NBC version, The Perfect Minute runs for two hours per episod
