“Identity” Air Date Reminder
This is a small reminder about the airdate of the new NBC game show "Identity", something I think I messed up on a previous post. It is going to air all next week, starting on Monday, December 18th, at 9PM ET and going into its normal 8PM ET time slot on Tuesday the 19th.

NBC launched their online "Identity" game. I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to the show a little bit more now. Check it out if you get a chance and see if you can win $500,000 on your first try.

More "Identity" news: they put the website up finally. Yes, there will be an online game. Yes, there will be a text-and-win competition for, if we had to guess, oh, $10,000? No, we still don't know the rules beyond that a player has to find the identities of twelve people. The money chain was revealed, though. 11- $500,000 10- $250,000 9- $150,000 8- $100,000 7- $75,000 6- $50,000 5- $25,000 4- $15,000 3- $10,000 2- $5,000 1- $1,000 Before we get comments, it's 11 because there's no point in giving money for placing the one identity of one person, is there? "Identity" debuts December 18th in a week long event at 8PM ET.

We have a few things for "Identity". First off, the logo to the left. So does anyone want to take a bet that we'll zoom into the game through the hole in the D? Also, YouTube now has an "Identity" commercial that was shown on NBC. It shows the set, which looks rather small, contains a monitor or two, and twelve different pedistools where the twelve panel members stand. They don't show the entire money chain, but we do see that the final levels of the chain are $75,000; $100,000; $150,000; $250,000. It looks like the one below $75,000 is $50,000, but we can't verify that completely. We don't know what happens with a wrong guess either. So does anyone have any early opinions on this? Personally, I'm looking forward to it. It looks

BuzzerBlog was the first to announce "Identity" was going to NBC. Now it has an airdate. The show I am dubbing "Extreme What's My Line" will debut in a week-long strip, much like "Deal or No Deal" did originally, on December 18th at 8PM ET. In "Identity", Penn Jillette hosts the show where if you match the correct identity to each person, you will win $500,000. Be sure to check it out. It seems a bit too high of a budget for what the show is, but it looks interesting.

Craigslist has another posting for the new NBC panel game show "Identity". They are looking for a huge array of different people for the game. If you are around the LA area, you are given $400 for sitting in the studio for one day and competing on a game show. You can't win any money except the $400, though. The rules are simple. Twelve panel members will be lined up. The contestant has to guess which one is which; in other words, you'd have to guess which one is the nun, which one is a magician, which one is a teacher, and so on. Projected for now, if the player can correctly solve all the identities, the contestant will win $500,000. If you'd like to be one of the panel members, please click here.

Today, NBC announced the layoff of 700 jobs in order to save money. Not only that, NBC television division chief executive Jeff Zucker stated that the 8PM-9PM time slot will no longer be scheduled for dramas or sitcoms. The network will now air reality or game shows in that area. This is all part of a plan to save $750 million this year, and by looking at some costs, they could do it. Take, for instance, the cost it takes to make an episode of the relatively low rated "Friday Night Lights": $2.6 million. The cost for the extremely high rated "Deal or No Deal": $1.1 million. Yes, for every episode of "Friday Night Lights", they can make two episodes of "Deal or No Deal". Looking at how "1 vs. 100" will, most likely, give away even les
