This may have been overlooked during the holiday, so I figured let’s post the Mark L. Walberg interview again when people are around actually.
We still have a fun interview for you all today. One of my favorites (and a recent favorite of many around here as far as I can tell), Mark L. Walberg. Walberg is hosting the new FOX game show The Moment of Truth which is, truthfully, on my eager list. I don’t know why, but I’m relatively excited to see it. If it’s anything like Walberg says it is, it should be great. He also discusses his Price is Right audition, a bit about Russian Roulette, and more. There are two minor audio issues which I tried to fix, but something happened with my audio program. I swear one day I will figure out how to run it!

Ever wanted to play a good version of Quiznation with more entertaining hosts? Look no further than PlayCafe. We have been doing things with them for a few months now, and they are all fantastic, as is the program. It’s definitely worth checking out on their website. We’ve had an interview with them due for a while and now is as good of a time as any to post it. The interview with creator Mark Goldenson is found under the break.

I attempt to praise That’s the Question, GSN’s highly addictive quiz show, every chance I get at BuzzerBlog. Naturally I jumped on the opportunity to interview host Bob Goen. If you aren’t aware, he’s hosted other hit shows such as Wheel of Fortune and Entertainment Tonight. In the interview he discusses how he calms viewers, his dream hosting job, and how to bring excitement into cheap shows such as his edition of Wheel of Fortune and his current show. THE INTERVIEW CAN BE LISTENED TO BY CLICKING HERE.
And I do apologize for the few “uhs”, as I try to cut those out. This was done early in the morning so my brain was still thawing.
On BuzzerBlog, I really don’t get that overly excited about contestants. However, every now and again there is one person who just captivates me and has me constantly caring how they do, and UK “Deal or No Deal” found that person for me: Jonathan Bunney. I don’t know if it was the songs, his personality, or anything else, but he just kept be entertained and tense the entire time during his stay at the podium before he got his chance at the Pound Table. When I had the opportunity to talk to Bunney, I was overjoyed, and he truly turned out to be one of the nicest people I’ve ever talked to. Please enjoy this 40 minute interview (I’m sorry it’s long, but everything that he had to say was great; I couldn’t take anything out), and PLEASE be sure to click the following links to see clips of his stay on the show and the final 10 minutes of his episode. They are all very entertaining. If you have any messages you’d like to send him, please use the comment box, as I’m sure he will be seeing them.

Bob Barker will be grabbing the microphone for the final time on the set of “The Price is Right” on June 6th. In a recent interview, Barker said the secret to hosting a game show well is the ability to listen to the contestants. He stated “Too many are thinking of what they should say next instead of picking up on what the contestants are telling them. These people are little gems with which you can create laughter and good times.” When asked how he maintains his energy, he said “Booze.” Most amusingly though, Bob said he doesn’t know why his show and he are so popular among colleges. Maybe from his famous line in the movie Happy Gilmore. “I’ve been in television 50 years and what am I going to be remembered for? The Price is Wrong, bitch.”
Penn Jillette has quite a career under his belt already. He has a hit show on Showtime: “Penn and Teller: Bullshit!”. He has a hit Las Vegas show. His movie “The Aristrocrats” is in the theatrical comedy record books after a short time. Now he gets to add another profession: game show host. Tonight, Penn Jillette will host “Identity”, a brand new game show on NBC which makes people match up different identities to different people for $500,000. Recently, I was at a teleconference hosted by NBC and had the chance to talk to Mr. Jillette. This is what I came up with; I hope you enjoy. Note: sorry for the low quality right now. We’re testing software to bring back the Buzzer podcast again and this was a trial run, so to speak.

Savvy.com today announced that “Deal or No Deal”’s April Scott, who previously held case 14, is taking over the role of Daisy Duke in the new straight-to-DVD movie “The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning”. She will portray Daisy’s transformation from tomboy to sex bomb when the movie is released in March 2007. When asked how tough it was to get the job, Ms. Scott, one of People’s “Most Beautiful People” stated “The audition process was pretty difficult. They saw tons of girls. I was called back four times before I got the part. Jessica (Simpson) was definitely a great Daisy, but luckily they chose a brunette this time.” However, when asked about the role she would most like, she said Wonder Woman.
“Warner Bros. tells me they are working on the script, so I’ll be practicing with my cape until they are ready to start casting,” she said, adding that she would love for fans to back her when that time arrives.”
Three female contestants from GSN’s show “Chain Reaction” are saying what many many many people are going to say when they are out of episodes: “I’m glad it’s over.” On Friday night (their show was taped in August), Kelly Hooper, Linda McAllister, and Helene Dunn compete on the GSN game show to win upwards of $3,000 if they are lucky.
“We had a ball,” said Helene, 41, who lives in Chalfont with her husband and three children. They made it through the first round, winning $1,700. That’s a total of $1,700; enough, they joked, to cover their two train trips to New York City.
Hooper, 38, of Harleysville, said, “I loved doing it, but I’m glad it’s over.”
NBC held an audio press conference for their new show “1 vs. 100″ (October 13th, 9PM ET) this morning, and BuzzerBlog was part of it. There wasn’t a ton of information given that we didn’t release about 5 years ago, but we’ll throw some interesting and entertaining tidbits up here. Read it after the jump. Just a warning, we do have some crude language. So, if you are offended by it, stop being so uptight! Continue reading ‘BuzzerBlog at the “1 vs. 100″ Press Conference’
Last week, Buzzer had an exclusive interview with “Deal or No Deal” executive producer Scott St. John. Listen as he talks about the success of NBC’s version, what happened to ABC’s, and more technical details.
