Casino Programming Moved to Sundays on GSN Thumbnail

Casino Programming Moved to Sundays on GSN

Edit: I fixed the Sunday casino block schedule; sorry about the confusion, I overlooked that part in the original schedule excel file I was sent. World Poker Tour airs at 9:00PM ET and 1:00AM ET on Sundays.  The other time slots that evening are High Stakes Poker. GSN's been doing a lot of rearranging recently. First off, just a minor note that the Sunday decades specials called Laugh Out Loud have been newly titled Play It Back. Those schedules remain the same. However, starting on September 22nd, all casino programming will be gone from weekday time slots. Casino programming will only been seen on Sundays from 7:00PM to 3:00AM ET and that's just a mishmash of High Stakes Poker and World Poker Tour. WPT is on Sundays at 1AM ET and

Sony Buys Production Company 2waytraffic Thumbnail

Sony Buys Production Company 2waytraffic

EDIT: Since it's being possible this is construed in a different way, I'll just note right now that no, I obviously don't think Sony's shows are bad. I loved Russian Roulette and Power of 10, Jeopardy! is great, Wheel of Fortune is a bit flashy but still good, and Pyramid was a bit too modern but still the old show. The only Sony shows I have issues with are the two new ones, and they didn't, as paraphrased, "suck ass". They were just boring and not that good. Sorry if it makes people connected upset personally or professionally, but I just feel it is. Sony is nearly the most powerful game show company in the world these days. They already have Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!. And now with this new deal, they also have Who Wants to

GSN Launches a “That’s The Question” Mini Game

Hey, everyone! We're back. Things went fantastic in New York City and I hope to tell you more soon but I'd rather remain quiet about it for a bit longer. Thanks for all your positive messages and comments, I really appreciate it. But this is a site for game show opinions, so we're back to it.  Be sure to keep communicating, though.  I assure you, some pretty important people read what you have to say and value it. It's no secret around here that I'm a huge fan of GSN's original show That's The Question now in its second season.  One thing I've always wondered is how difficult it is to play with the intense speed and pressure.  It's something host Bob Goen and I discussed before.  GSN is now letting you discover how tough and fun it is

Interview: Bob Goen Thumbnail

Interview: Bob Goen

I attempt to praise That's the Question, GSN's highly addictive quiz show, every chance I get at BuzzerBlog. Naturally I jumped on the opportunity to interview host Bob Goen. If you aren't aware, he's hosted other hit shows such as Wheel of Fortune and Entertainment Tonight. In the interview he discusses how he calms viewers, his dream hosting job, and how to bring excitement into cheap shows such as his edition of Wheel of Fortune and his current show. THE INTERVIEW CAN BE LISTENED TO BY CLICKING HERE. And I do apologize for the few "uhs", as I try to cut those out.  This was done early in the morning so my brain was still thawing.

“That’s The Question” Review: One of the better originals Thumbnail

“That’s The Question” Review: One of the better originals

The new season of That's The Question was going to be interesting to say the least. If you saw the first twenty episodes you may know there were a few, uh, issues. The set was odd, music and sound effects were god awful, the writing was poor, too many factual errors, the show felt like it was missing something, and the show was horribly cheap. I was a fan of season one, but there was some fear for season two. Nothing against GSN, but recently they haven't exactly had the greatest track record for originals. A huge sigh of relief came when I found that they fixed 75% of the issues. We already saw pictures of the set, and it is extremely nice; one of the best ones GSN has put together. It's not a Millionaire clone like Chain Reaction

“That’s The Question” Season Two Tonight!

Tonight GSN will begin a new season of their hit trivia show That's The Question at 9PM ET.  We already went over the new set and logo and all that stuff.  Also, don't forget there are actual decent writers this season, which makes it thrilling enough.  Obviously this will be waiting until it airs, but what did you think of the show?  I'll throw my opinions in here later, but I'd love to hear what you all think.  Remember, the new season of That's The Question is tonight at 9PM ET on GSN. New Show Opinions Thumbnail

New Show Opinions

Instead of creating a different post for each show, let's just do it all in one. In case you aren't aware, every game show under the sun starts a new season today.  Wheel of Fortune begins its 25th year celebration, Jeopardy! starts a new one, Family Feud gets a new, nice logo with the same fantastic host of John O'Hurley, Who Wants to be a Millionaire? begins its sixth season on its way to its thousanth show, and finally we have the debut of Crosswords (which is quite good) and Temptation (which isn't quite good to me).  Don't forget tomorrow GSN will start a brand new US season of That's The Question with a nice set and actual writers!  That makes it exponentially better off the bat.  What did you think about all the new shows, changes

Official GSN press release for That’s the Question S2

(Santa Monica, CA) – Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007 – GSN is bringing THAT’S THE QUESTION back for a second season on Tuesday, September 11. Produced by Scott Sternberg Productions and hosted by Bob Goen (“Entertainment Tonight,” “Miss Universe”), the fast-paced word game will air Tuesday thru Saturdays from 9:00 – 9:30 PM, ET.THAT’S THE QUESTION is a half-hour series that combines word scrambles with a test of world history and pop culture trivia knowledge. Contestants compete against each other in a race to discover a question. Clues to the question are revealed by unscrambling words that contain one extra letter, which is, upon being unscrambled correctly, dropped into its proper place in the question, a la “Hangman.” The players ta

“That’s The Question” Season 2 Set Thumbnail

“That’s The Question” Season 2 Set

One issue I have with some of GSN's originals is the general lack of a decent set.  This can really mainly be blamed on a lack of big bucks like other networks have, but come on.  Chain Reaction looks like a copy of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and Camouflage had the smallest set I've ever seen.  However, That's The Question might go down as having the best and most useful set since Russian Roulette.  Take a look at some of these thumbnails.  Now that they have a good set and really good writers, I can't see a reason why this season won't be short of amazing.  Be on the lookout for the second season of GSN's amazing That's That Question on September 11th at 9PM ET on GSN.

Rumor Control: “That’s The Question” Season 2

This bit of news is a total surprise. According to Total Content & Media and 2waytraffic, GSN has renewed one of my personal new favorite shows, That's The Question has been renewed for a new series of 65 episodes. The quote in full... ""That's The Question", is also performing well with new deals in Finland, with Game Show Network in the U.S. where it has been re-commissioned for 65 episodes starting this summer and has just begun its first series of 60 episodes in the U.K." Now of course this isn't official until GSN announces something, but it's looking good. Again, it's a rumor for now, but I'd be expecting an announcement during the TCAs on July 14th. Checklist for GSN on this show: 1- Up the payouts maybe a tiny bit? 2-
