“The Newlywed Game” Celebrates Sherri Shepherd’s Wedding August 8th
GSN's popular game show The Newlywed Game will be celebrating the new newlywed status of its host, Sherri Shepherd, soon. The show quizzing newly married coupled will celebrate the wedding the week of August 8th leading up to Sherri's wedding on the 13th. Sherri will hit the streets of New York City, the show's home base, seeking words of marital wisdom. The moments will air before the final round when the show airs at 6:30PM ET. The five episodes will be rerun on August 13th at 4:30PM ET.

Before we get into some bigger news later today, lets start you off with a few smaller stories that are floating around. Who Wants to be a Millionaire has scheduled its first guest host of the season. Actress, comedienne, and host of GSN's The Newlywed Game, Sherri Shepherd, will substitute for regular host Meredith Vieira for one week only. Speaking of The Newlywed Game, the hit GSN game show is still looking for contestants. Let's Make A Deal will be celebrating Earth Day on April 22nd with environmentally-friendly and green prizes. The Price is Right celebrates Earth Day each year and I see no reason why this would be the exception, so be on the lookout for more information regarding that soon.
Next, Ratings came out last week for syndicated and broadcast networks and it wasn't great for most shows except Jeopardy!. With the Watson episodes factored in, Jeopardy! averaged a 7.2 rating. Nonetheless, the week ending February 20th, Wheel of Fortune was still number one. Minute to Win It still looks like it's in serious trouble, though. And finally, Let's Make A Deal will be celebrating Earth Day on April 22nd with environmentally-friendly and green prizes. GSN Announces New Spring Originals
GSN's got a big Spring for game show fans. A new season of a favorite and two brand new series will debut in April, along with a schedule shuffle. As previously stated in advertising from the network's website, Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza will debut April 11th at 8:00PM ET.
Love Triangle, the new talk/dating game show, will also debut April 11th. The show, hosted by Wendy Williams, shows potential daters information about their past, present, and future. It will air weeknights at 7:00PM ET. The Newlywed Game will debut its new season, the second with current host Sherri Shepherd, on April 18th at the new time slot of 6:30PM ET. The rumors were true. It has been announced that The View panelist Sherri Shepherd is the new host of GSN's hit relationship show The Newlywed Game. Sherri will take over for Carnie Wilson who left the show, and shortly after it was announced she filed a lawsuit against the network. Production of the newest season will move back to its original home in New York City. Season one taped there before moving to Los Angeles for the next two. Hollywood Reporter is saying in an exclusive report that the singer and television presenter is suing GSN for additional money she did not receive from her failed and critically lauded reality show Unstapled. We posted word from Vulture's Joe Adalian that The Newlywed Game is supposedly coming back for a fourth season, but without host Carnie Wilson. We can now confirm that today. GSN has officially renewed the hit relationship show for a new season. And as reported, Carnie Wilson will be leaving the show. GSN provided a statement: "GSN’s hit series “The Newlywed Game” will return for its fourth season this fall with a new host. According to Joe Adalian from New York Magazine's Vulture The Newlywed Game is likely to bring back The Newlywed Game for a fourth season. It will tie Catch 21 to be the second longest running show in the network's history, behind Lingo. However, host Carnie Wilson is said not to return. It's late so obviously we can't confirm anything today but we will try to later. Joe hasn't been wrong with this stuff before and he has two sources confirming this so it's looking likely.
