Fred Roggin Leaving GSN Live

Fred Roggin announced on GSN Live yesterday that he's leaving the show.  So The Money List is your only option to see him on the network for now. Here's his statement from the GSN boards: From the begining of GSN Live we invited you into our family and you invited us into yours. That's why I'm sharing this with you now. My time at GSN Live has come to an end. I've been in broadcasting a long time and nothing has been more enjoyable than the time I was honored to spend with you on a daily basis. I've learned that game show fans are perhaps the most passionate people. I've felt your passion. (luckily more good than bad). The network allowed me to pursue a dream and for that I am thankful. The dream continues and that was the plan from day o

GSN Searches for the Nation’s Best Undiscovered Hosts for GSN Live Segments

Want to win a trip to LA and appear on a segment of GSN Live?  GSN is giving you the opportunity as they embark on a seven city tour searching for undiscovered hosts with the "GSN LIVE Play Everyday Tour," presented by NESCAFE TASTER'S CHOICE.  From March 7th through April 4th, the popular afternoon talk/game show will be stopping at seven cities all across the country letting people in the malls they will be at play games for cash and prizes as well as some NESCAFE coffee.  For coffee addicts like me, I like the sound of that. The part most of you will probably be excited about is a chance to showcase your talent as a host in each of the cities.  Through several rounds,  the winner in each market will receive an all-expense paid trip to

Howie Mandel and Others Visit GSN Live and Radio

GSN's daily talk/game show GSN Live has a lot of upcoming guests, one of which should make people around here excited.  But first, the PDFs are updated and like we said before, Who Wants to be a Millionaire? with Meredith Vieira is back on the schedule.  But back to GSN Live's guests.  Fans of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air will want to watch, as a mini-reunion will happen at 1:00PM ET on Friday.  Along with host Alfonso Ribeiro, Fresh Prince co-stars James Avery and Tatyana Ali.  The other host of the 12:00PM ET to 3:00PM ET block is Heidi Bohay. Also on Friday, host of Deal or No Deal, Howie Mandel, stops by the GSN Radio set to talk to hosts Marianne Curan and Bob Goen.  Howie will show up at 2:40PM ET.  In celebration of this,  a specia

Kelly Packard Leaves GSN Live Thumbnail

Kelly Packard Leaves GSN Live

Sad news for GSN Live fans like myself.  The co-host of the 3:00PM ET to 6:00PM ET block, Kelly Packard, left the show.  She was gone as of today.  Fred Roggin, the other host, is there with other hosts filling in.  Here's the official statement from the network. As of today, Kelly Packard will no longer be a host on GSN LIVE as she has decided to pursue other opportunities. Everyone at GSN enjoys her energy and charming personality, and wishes her the very best in her future endeavors. While GSN has plans to find a new member to join the GSN LIVE family, there will be several guest hosts in the interim including the show’s own Heidi Bohay and Alfonso Ribeiro who will, from time-to-time, join Fred Roggin. So there you have it.  I thought

Various GSN News Items

Sorry, I thought someone was updating the site when I went away.  Guess not.  But lots of GSN news in my inbox.  First off watch GSN Live tomorrow.  Alan Thicke who hasn't been as awful as an Expert on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? this week as I imagined, will be the guest.  You can see him at around 1:15PM ET.  He hosted a GSN show called Three's A Crowd a long time ago.  Apparently it wasn't that popular because I don't remember him on GSN at all. Bingo America tomorrow is going to be great for all home viewers playing along as well.  On Friday, the hit GSN show Bingo America will be matching any $50 winner with a $50 gift certificate for a "turkey".  Although it may be worth noting that there's no way in hell you'll be getting your

Betty White Visits GSN Live on Thursday; “Password Plus” Mini Marathon

OK, I'm finally caught up with emails with this one so no delayed news.  On Thursday, November 20th, GSN Live has a very special treat for all the viewers.  The queen of game shows, Betty White, will be making a very special appearance during the 3PM ET to 6PM ET block hosted by Fred Roggin and Kelly Packard, specifically 5PM ET.  She will be discussing her life, late husband Allen Ludden, and various game shows she's participated in (most recently Million Dollar Password). To celebrate her visit, GSN Live will be airing a mini marathon of Password Plus during that 3PM E to 6PM E block.  Episodes featured will be, according to the network: #025. From 1979. Host: Allen Ludden. Celebrity Panelists: Betty White & Dick Martin. During

“Stump the Master” on GSN Live, Plus More Guests

Lots of upcoming news for GSN's daily afternoon talk/game show GSN Live.  First off, some special guests will be appearing tomorrow.  If you're a Wheel of Fortune fan, you won't want to miss the 12PM E to 3PM E edition hosted by Heidi Bohay and Alfonso Ribeiro.  Vanna White will be stopping by the show at 1PM E.  After that, during the 3PM E to 6PM E edition hosted by Fred Roggin and Kelly Packard, rapper Coolio will visit.  I don't quite get why he'll be there but why not; he's entertaining enough. GSN Live's main event comes Friday.  Ken Jennings and his new segment Stump the Master starts at 5PM E.  Submit your questions to GSN Live from their website.  If your question is selected and stumps Ken, you win $1,000 plus a prize.  In addi

Ken Jennings Headlines GSN Live’s New Segment “Stump the Master”

GSN Live has a new way for viewers to interact with game show giants, as well as a new way to earn thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.  Starting on Friday, October 31st, GSN Live introduces "Stump the Master" with Ken Jennings.  Each week, viewers at home can submit questions they think will stump Ken Jennings by visiting GSN Live's website.  Four categories will be presented.  Ken selects one of them to go against the home viewer. If the home viewer who submitted that question is able to Stump the Master and beat Ken, the player wins $1,000 plus a prize.  Not only that, after the first time Ken is stumped, the jackpot comes into play where each question Ken answers correctly adds $1,000 to the total prize.  So there's lots of money

News Flashes for October 8th Thumbnail

News Flashes for October 8th

Hey everyone.  No real news today.  It's sort of depressing since yesterday was rather exciting with the whole Millionaire going to GSN and Family Feud DVD game.  So on these days, instead of having a lot of MiniBuzz posts about smaller items, we'll just post these all here so you can see.  And so we can fill content more.  I hate not having a major article of some kind every day. *I think many people saw this coming, but Japanese broadcaster TBS (not the comedy network) has filed a lawsuit against ABC, where they call the new summer hit Wipeout "a blatant copycat."  It's true at least, but it's just a stunt show.  There have been lots of stunt shows over the years.  Can't wait to see how this one turns out, especially since I'm a really

GSN Plans Paul Newman Tribute Thumbnail

GSN Plans Paul Newman Tribute

I'm sure you've probably heard, but if you haven't, the great actor Paul Newman passed away this weekend.  In respect, GSN is planning a special tribute which will make fans of Mr. Newman and classic game show fans equally happy.  On Saturday, October 4th, GSN will be bringing black and white classics to the daytime with an hour of What's My Line? at 4PM ET.  Both episodes come from 1959.  This will be rebroadcasted at 3AM ET the same day as well. Not only that, today (September 30th) on GSN's daily game/talk show GSN Live, clips of Mr. Newman on various game shows will be shown.  And sorry to hijack the thread, but one more minor GSN Live note.  Comedy writer and frequent Hollywood Squares guest Bruce Vilanch will be visiting Fred Roggi

“Bingo America” Hosts Visit GSN Live

Well we may have missed the first day, but you'll catch is the rest of this week.  Next week sees the season debut of Bingo America featuring new hosts, a new better end game, and more audience participation than ever before.  To promote it a bit more and get people excited, GSN Live will be playing bingo themed games all week during the 1PM ET hour, hosted by Heidi Bohay and Alfonso Ribeiro.  People that play along have the chance to be the first to win the new Bingo America DVD game coming out next Monday as well. Finally, on Friday, October 3rd, the new host of Bingo America, Richard Karn, stops by the GSN Live set at 5PM ET along with hosts Fred Roggin and Kelly Packard.  New co-host of Bingo, Diane Mizota, will be on Monday, October

“GSN Live” Guests + Shokus “Concentration” Tribute Thumbnail

“GSN Live” Guests + Shokus “Concentration” Tribute

Two stories for the price of one.  We're going crazy.  Seriously, we are; I got four hours of sleep last night because of various things.  First off, with the extension of GSN Live to the 3PM ET to 6PM ET, new guests are needed.  First up is Trivial Pursuit: America Plays host Christopher Knight.  He'll be on this Thursday from 3:00PM ET to 4:30PM ET.  I hate to go off on a tangent, but I have to.  Some initially were a bit disgruntled that Mark Walberg, the host of the pilot, didn't get the actual show hosting job.  Watching how Trivial Pursuit goes, does anyone else think it's better than Mark isn't hosting?  It seems like it would have been a waste of his talents. Long time To Tell The Truth panelist Orson Bean visits the set from 12:

GSN Live Expands This Week Thumbnail

GSN Live Expands This Week

During an email conversation I had with someone last night, we commented on how a lot of people, including me, got sick over the weekend.  It's strange how many people I know suddenly came down with something.  If you're stuck in bed in a NyQuil coma like I was, this may be a great week to check out GSN Live, as the new three hour extension debuted on Monday.  The first three hours, focusing on the classics, is hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro (GSN's Catch 21 host) and Heidi Bohay.  The newest three hours, focusing on some newer shows like Lingo and Weakest Link, is hosted by Fred Roggin (GSN's upcoming The Money (Rich) List). It's really just a natural extension of the format and works very well.  I've been saying it for a while, but GSN Live,
