Million Dollar Cat Game Show on GSN; I’m Serious
Ever read about one of those shows that makes you question humanity and makes you see if you have any easy way to remove your eyes lying around? I got a press release from representatives this weekend (sorry, I was out of town) about GSN partnering with Meow Mix to do a cat game show called "Think Like a Cat". My jaw dropped and I just kept thinking, "There's no way they can be doing another cat game. Was the last one, Catminster, that popular?" I triple checked with representatives from each company and it's true. This time it's an actual game show rather than a pageant. This sounds absolutely painful. GSN has pushed back the launch of "Cat-Minster" by a bit. The cat pageant debuts on Sunday, April 1st at 7PM till 9PM ET. The first hour will give viewers a rare glimpse into the world of competitive cat shows. The second hour features the championship itself. The entire show will be hosted by former "That's The Question" host Bob Goen and Marianne Curan.

We may have overlooked this before, but "Catminster", GSN's cat show, has an airdate. It will be seen as a special on Tuesday, March 27th 2007 from 8PM ET to 10PM ET. It is hosted by Bob Goen ("That's The Question") and Marianne Curan.

This was a tough secret to keep for a few months, trust me. Let the bitching begin! GSN will be going away from game shows again and doing an actual cat pageant: "Catminster: CFS International Cat Championship" which will be taping in December and airing in Q12007 as it stands now. GSN senior vice president of marketing Dena Kaplan stated she hopes this show can become an "annual tentpole event" much like the new "National Vocabulary Championship".
