Small alert to remember the season premieres of Catch 21 and Baggage on GSN today at 5:30PM ET and 6:30PM ET, respectively. Alfonso Ribeiro and Mikki Padilla return in the trivia blackjack game Catch 21 hoping to give a contestant $25,000. The show is now shot in HD. Baggage is back with Jerry Springer looking at people's deepest, darkest secrets before the date happens.

Here's an alert about a few minor upcoming GSN schedule changes in the future. However, I first just want to note about new shows. Catch 21 comes back from a rather long break in a new time slot of 5:30PM ET, being the new lead-in for The Newlywed Game. Actually it probably has the nicest slot that network can give any show right now...sandwiched between the highly rated Deal or No Deal and the highly rated Newlywed Game. Alfonso Ribeiro returns as host, as does the dealer Mikki Padilla. The show will rerun at 8:30PM ET. I'm hearing 130 episodes have been ordered, which is the largest order GSN has ever given to an original series. Usual orders are 65 episodes, so this is a long six months of new episodes which is good news. Read about more changes after the break.

On August 16, "Catch 21" will usher in its fourth season. The blackjack-themed game show has been doing very well for GSN, and quite frankly, it's a fun game to play along with. A new batch of contestants will play the game for a chance to win up to $26,000, in a test of trivia, skill and luck of the cards. It's one of GSN's better shows, and I'm glad to see it back for another round.

I've got some small updates about various formats. Let's start with the most exciting. *I'm hearing from very reliable sources that 1 VS 100 is looking to make a television network comeback. It won't be on NBC, though. 1 VS 100 has been a major player for GSN, achieving big ratings for the game show network even though it has few episodes. Next, GSN has a hit with Baggage in America, and it's starting to sell abroad. Our friends at K7Media forwarded us to a report that the French network NRJ 12 has picked up Baggage for a 30 episode run. It will debut in France in September. Finally, A new unscripted TV production company, Shevick Zupon Entertainment, just got a show commissioned by GSN for a pilot apparently. According to C21Media, the company is developing the show Pass the Joke for the network, which is based on a 1972 format originally hosted by comedian Milton Berle. Read on for full details and more exclusive inside information.

GSN's incredibly entertaining dating game show Baggage will begin its second season on August 16th at 6:30PM ET. If you haven't seen it I can't implore you enough to check it out. If GSN markets and promotes this thing hardcore, this could really be this generation's Love Connection easily. The show lets prospective couples know what they are in for before going out by revealing their "baggage". I haven't talked to a single person who has not liked the show. You can see replays of the first season every night at 6:30PM ET on GSN right now. Next season adds an audience which is going to help the show immensely.

Two small audience notices for you this morning. Hey, GSN's listening to one of the few complaints we had about their hit dating show Baggage. The show was incredibly quiet and needed the audience to make some noise and laugh at the contestants to really drive the point of the show home. Jerry Springer, the host, really needed something to play off of also. He's incredibly talented and a huge showman. Luckily GSN is adding an audience for the second season of the show. Also, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader has been taping its second season which comes out in September. Country bands and popular personalities will appear this season.
