“Our Little Genius” Update: Audience Reports of Questionable Activity

The situation on Fox's now-canceled quiz show Our Little Genius is pretty bad. It would have been larger news if the NBC late night ordeal wasn't happening at the same time. To bring people up to speed if you are behind: Fox pulled Our Little Genius less than a week before its debut because there was an, "issue with how some information was relayed to contestants during...pre-production," according to executive producer Mark Burnett. Some audience reports from Hollywood Junket are shedding some more light on this.

Complimenting Fox’s “Our Little Genius”

So as readers know I have a fun habit of, well, talking crap on shows that look awful to no end.  And they usually end up being awful, but some don't.  Unfortunately most of these shows tend to be on Fox which for some reason doesn't have the best out-reach program unlike every other network, so I wasn't exactly shocked to find out I wasn't invited to the Our Little Genius teleconference recently held.  And in the holiday spirit I want to reach out and say, "Hey, you may not suck that bad," by listing some positive things I've noticed from the show.  We've also got some set pictures which you can find throughout the article. 1: I do like the idea that the family member has control of the game, not the player.  Now I know this was

Fox’s “Our Little Genius”: Swing and a Miss

Say hello to your replacement for The Cube on Fox!  In really just a few weeks we'll be seeing the debut of Fox's new quiz show Our Little Genius, on January 13th at 9:00PM ET which is directly after American Idol.  Unless the country suddenly stops watching Idol, we're going to see Genius back for more episodes after its initial short run no matter what.  If we saw the return of The Moment of Truth, even if I liked it, we're going to see this thing come back.  The difference with Genius is that it's not really awful.  It's just bland, boring, a direct copy of Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader which itself is a direct copy of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and is just irritate confuse and infuriate people.  So in other words it'll sadly

Kevin Pollak Named Host of Fox’s “Our Little Genius”

We've got a host for Fox's new quiz show Our Little Genius.  It's actor/comedian, and former host of Celebrity Poker Showdown, Kevin Pollak. From a release from Fox: “I’ve been a fan of Kevin Pollak’s work for many years. His incredible humor, intelligence and quick wit are all perfect additions to an incredibly dynamic format,” said OUR LITTLE GENIUS executive producer Mark Burnett. “He instinctively knows when to add seriousness and when to add humor. I am so glad he has joined the OUR LITTLE GENIUS team.” Still not a ton is known about the show.  The essential rules are a child genius will answer increasingly hard questions for a ton of money.  The parents will decide when the game should stop.  So imagine Who Wants to be a
