£250,000 Question on Channel 4′s “The Million Pound Drop” Thumbnail

£250,000 Question on Channel 4′s “The Million Pound Drop”

While Fox's version of The Million Pound Drop crashed and burned for a number of reasons, the British version is still living on Channel 4.  Davina Mccall hosts the show where answering eight questions could win you up to £1,000,000 as long as you can hold onto it.  It's rare when couples go for giant money at the end.  Most of the time couples play for around £50,000 to £100,000.  Seeing someone have the chance at £250,000 doesn't come often.  Nick and Katie are playing for the cash.  Only two answers are available and they have to place the entire £250,000 on one single drop zone.  The biggest win to date is £200,000.  Are they about to see £250,000 drop out of hand, or are they going to win £250,000 and be the biggest winners?  Click here to watch and see what happens.

Couple Plays for Giant Money on “The Million Pound Drop” Thumbnail

Couple Plays for Giant Money on “The Million Pound Drop”

Couples don't typically make it to the end of the game show The Million Pound Drop, the original British version of Fox's short-lived Million Dollar Money Drop, with much of their million left.  It tends to be around £25,000-£75,000 with a few outliers.  This weekend had one of those few exceptions.  Contestants Lindsay and Lee reached the seventh of eight questions with a massive £550,000 in play.  That's one of the biggest totals carried through to the end by any couple on any version of the show.  Just two questions until they can take it home.  They'll definitely be playing for over £200,000.  How much will they play for, though? This Week in UK Game Shows Thumbnail

This Week in UK Game Shows

The two popular game shows in the UK at the moment produced some memorable moments earlier this week. Firstly is The Chase. It has been reported in recent days the show is now hitting 3 million viewers and dominating the 5pm slot, pushing BBC One's Weakest Link to their lowest ratings for a long time. It has also given ITV's best ratings for their 5pm slot since Autumn 2005.  Tuesday's show featured two contestants, Keith and Jordan who faced The Governess, Anne Hegerty. One of these contestants produced a "first" for the show. Check out the clip below to see which one created a "first" for the The Chase. The clips features both the cashbuilder and chase rounds for both contestants. [stream provider=video flv=x:/www.flashgameshows.com/wo

Weekend Replay: £200,000 On the Line on “The Million Pound Drop” Thumbnail

Weekend Replay: £200,000 On the Line on “The Million Pound Drop”

Channel 4's The Million Pound Drop came back for a new series, airing every Friday and Saturday night for the next few weeks live.  The Davina McCall quiz show has had a few winners, but no one has taken over £75,000 away from the drop.  One couple in season one had a chance to win £525,000 but lost it all on the final question.  Rick and Sophie played an amazing game, making it to the final question, number eight, with £200,000.  They either take it all home or they get nothing on the final question.  Getting £200,000, after conversion, would make them the biggest winners in any version of the show.  Did they do it?  Click here to watch and find out.
