In lieu of our usual Morning Buzz update for now, I think today's format update deserves its own stand-alone article. It's very strange. I didn't expect either of these to happen. Pyramid will just not die, and that's a good thing. That $500,000 Pyramid logo we got is coming in handy. TBS has added Pyramid, hosted by actor, comedian, and Conan sidekick Andy Richter, to its development slate. Also, The CW is adding a unique reality show to its lineup. The show is called The Frame, and the concept is that couples cannot leave the frame of a camera inside their house. Click here to learn more about both shows.

We've got a lot of relatively small stories, or things I can't elaborate on, so here are news flashes and commentary pieces for today. I'm sure the first one is the one most of you are interested in. First off, sources are telling us that Pyramid is eyeing a TV comeback after being passed on twice by CBS. Last I heard, it's just about confirmed to be coming back. Next, Cult favorite Only Connect, which we've been parading and proudly promoting since it first went on the air, comes back next week on BBC 4. And finally, Yet another game show received the Facebook treatment. Out recently is a new Wheel of Fortune game, powered by GSN. Read on for full details and commentary on each piece.

We could have seen this from a mile away and I'm sure many of you could also. According to Deadline, which is really never wrong with this stuff, CBS has chosen the View-like talk show hosted by Sarah Gilbert of The Big Bang Theory and with other panelists like Holly Robinson Peete, Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini, and the wife of the person who ends up making all these decisions Julie Chen. This means Pyramid is all but dead unless some unbelievable twist of fate occurs and Les Moonves wants a divorce. And to be honest, not to be rude, if you expected Pyramid to get picked up you were delusional. When it's against only game shows then yeah, it's looking good. Put it against a talk show in the format of a very popular one on ABC and it'

UPDATED: NEW RULES ADDED. READ ON FOR MORE. The rules for the new pilot for Pyramid are out and, really, it's as good as you can hope for. Info is, as always, from HollywoodJunket.com. It's essentially the classic Pyramid format. Two contestants play a game of word identification against each other. It's played in the same three rounds as the classic, where people guess up to seven words in 30 seconds. In the second round you can win a prize by correctly getting all seven. The winner plays the end game for $10,000. The contestant has sixty seconds to get as many items from the final Pyramid as possible. Another game with two other contestants is played for $10,000. The two winners will then face off against each other for one final game where the winner will play for $25,000.

Two updates for you right now. First for Pyramid. We're waiting for all the details of the Pyramid pilot which taped today to get in, but we're getting pieces. I'll update this post as stuff gets in. To start: Mo Rocca and Betty White were apparently celebrities for the taping. Probably two of the better ones they could have chosen. More information should be in soon. Late Night Liars will be getting an additional airing this week, Friday at 10:00PM ET on GSN. Also we have an interview with Meredith Vieira about how emotionally connected she gets to contestants on Millionaire.

The Fall 2010 television season isn't too far away and some of your favorite game shows, including new comers, need an audience. These are mostly all Los Angeles based so if you're in that area you're in luck. The news most people are waiting for (and quite a few apparently on verge of a nervous break down to hear about given the comments everywhere) is Pyramid. The audience notice is out now, and you can get tickets here. As we reported a few days ago by us the taping will be for an hour-long show. I just want to make sure to warn those foaming at the mouth...the show hasn't been picked up yet. It's just a pilot. Don't jump to giant conclusions. I heard from multiple people a big reason the last pilot didn't sell was the tone was incredibly different from The Price is Right and they wanted something that was more of a companion show. I don't know what they are specifically looking for this time.

Pyramid finally has a host! Andy Richter, the actor/comedian and Conan O'Brien sidekick, is going to host the CBS daytime pilot being produced by Embassy Row and Sony Pictures. This is the second group of pilots for the show. Last year Pyramid was considered for the daytime slot replacing Guiding Light but Let's Make A Deal was chosen instead.

UPDATE: We've got it on good authority that Pyramid will be Los Angeles based, unlike the New York City pilot. The CBS Daytime situation is starting to get interesting again. As we reported months ago, and as Hollywood Reporter just confirmed for us, Pyramid is getting another pilot and is the front runner to return. Pyramid, produced by Embassy Row, was originally looking to come back in daytime last year, but that slot was taken by Let's Make A Deal instead. The chance of getting Pyramid back solely rested on the success of Deal. It's been as much of a success as could be asked for, so we're getting another pilot. So cross your fingers that we'll finally see Pyramid done properly back on television this September. There were a

Starting off the day with a pretty interesting and great rumor today. Our sources are telling us that the search for a new show to replace the canceled CBS soap opera As The World Turns is on, and many game shows are being looked at. In fact, looking at the number of games that are up for it it's looking pretty good that we'll get a third daytime game show, coming off of last year's debut of Let's Make A Deal. Before I list the shows, I just want everyone to clearly know that this obviously isn't confirmed by anyone and is from our incredibly trustworthy sources. The situation, I'm told, is very fluid and things can change easy. This is just what it's looking like in the game show department as of right now and what CBS has been presented.
